At this Sixth Street newbie, chef Shawn Cirkiel serves elevated bar food like crab fritters, ricotta ravioli, classic steak tartare, and loup de mer with fennel vinaigrette.
For upscale American food in Austin, there is no better place than Parkside. Hit up the raw bar for oysters and five different kinds of scrumptious ceviche.
Stop by this 6th street institution on Wednesdays for 1/2 price Oysters and Champagne. Great atmosphere for friends or an intimate dinner.
Best butt dimples on dirty Sixth.
Wednesday nights are half-price champagne and oysters. They have the best oyster selection I've run across in Austin.
Holy crap this restaurant is good. Sweetbreads & marrow were Amazing. Okra was killer. Ceviche, butternut squash, lamb all great.
parkside will be open for lunch during SXSW!
Must.have.Okra. <-- you haven't lived until you do it here.
Don't miss the fried okra. It's cut on bias for more fried goodness. Also, loved the spring pea ravioli. Ask your server what's in season & local. (& the Driskell bartender rec'd the oysters here.)
Anything raw at this place is really good.
Best raw bar in town! Chef Cirkiel is very knowledgeable about the GF lifestyle.
What a great spot. The lamb pastrami is amazing. Steak is tasty, properly cooked and tender. Definitely coming back here.
THE hip spot for SXSW dining, whether fish, lamb or fowl. Best burger & raw bar in town, smack dab in the middle of 6th Street!!
Make sure you order ceviche, beef oyster, tounge, and ask for more bread!!!!! How come I never visited this place? Waiting for my entree, hope they're as good as the appetizers! :)
Don't sit at the bar unless you're capable of being completely stoic while watching hundreds of raw oysters go forth to other bellies. *droooool*
this place is phenomenal...located right on dirty 6th. the food and hospitality without a doubt will make you come back for more.
The sea bass is amazing. So fresh with a light citrus vinaigrette and rich avocado. Perfect for a hot summer evening. The mac & cheese is most excellent as well.
Try the grilled chicken sandwich. They'll even toss a fried egg onto it upon request.
Wednesday is 1/2 price oyster and champagne night!! My favorites I've tried so far are the Cameron Shoal, Caraquette, Mill Point, and Blue Point. For dessert, try their basil ice cream!!
Scallops rule. Pork jowells was melt in yur mouth goodness. Oyster platter was excellent but pricey. Highly recommend.
Named because the location could have potentially been next to a park 200+ years ago.
Wednesday Happy Hour 1/2 off oysters 1/2 off champagne. Yes pls!
Happy hour specials on the bar menu, beer and cocktails. But not wine. Boo
Wednesday's oyster platter + half off champagne = great way to start the night. Those blue pt oysters are divine.
The chicken is excellent.
Everything we ordered was divine and extremely amazing! Wow this chef is extremely creative and the food here is free range and healthy!! I recommend the Hen or the Rabbit! Both orgasmic.
Scallops were fantastic!
Oysters & Champagne Special on Wednesdays!
Mac n cheese. Top 3 in Austin.
Love the risotto!
Amazing service, atmosphere and the angus steak was incredible - highly recommend!
Skip the cocktails and go straight for the food. Sweetbreads with tongue, butter leaf lettuce salad with bacon, classic steak tartare, the ceviches, and the oysters are all excellent.
Steak tartare; a cocktail w peppar, ginger beer and lime, and some basil ice cream for dessert made for one of the better meals in Austin yet.
Mac n' Cheese is delightful. Order it with a steak and get the Donut Holes for dessert!
Try the mac & cheese and NY strip
Truffle fries and ceviche that make you want to bypass all the BBQ
Half price on drinks and bar food until midnight tonight! And the raw bass, avocado and like was delicious yesterday
Would come back here for apps & dessert only. Was not impressed with the lamb. Steak tartare & bass were unlike anything I've ever had. A must try! Banana bread dessert was excellent!
Little Island oysters!
Shawn Cirkiel's first restaurant has made its mark as a dining oasis on Dirty Sixth. They're an especially good bet for seafood, and the rooftop seating is lovely in good weather. [Eater 38 Member]
Large selection of oysters.
Wednesday specials: half off oysters, half off champagne. Menu changes daily. Great quality spot to eat on 6th street that isn't bar food.
Monday is martini night, $5 martini drinks. Happy hour is until 6:30, half price bar menu,.
The lamb chops are really good! Get the roasted wild mushrooms if they have them.
Overall this place doesn't feel like it fits the Austin food scene. It didn't taste homemade or amazing. There is way better food (and more extensive cocktail lists) elsewhere.
Recommend Ceviche, broccolini, coconut donuts
Get the blonde pâté!!
