Authentic and critically acclaimed Venezuelan cuisine in New York City. We are best known for our use of plantains.
Patacon with pulled pork is great
Their empanadas are small but filling
The food is awesome. Especially love the arepas. Small, but super filling. El jugo de parcha (passion fruit juice) is amazing!
Their patacones are humongous
But the main attraction is the patacon, a sandwich constructed with disks of twice-fried green plantains rather than bread. Overstuffed, dense, chewy, unwieldy and tasty.
Pernil arepa! Ask for extra sauce (all 3 of them)
Try the pulled pork patacon. It's a sandwich with fried plantains as the bun! That's what they are famous for. One is enough for 2 ppl. Check in on yelp to get a free tequeno (cheesy bread). Yum!
Hefty fried plantains are smashed, fried twice to get extra crispy, then used as the sandwich "bread" for a variety of fillings. We love the fried cheese version; it's salty, meaty, and delicious.
delicious chicken sandwich, and cheese avocado sandwich.
I love the chicken tacuchos! So savory and delicious!
This is more of a take out location than a sit down, however it was all worth it. Our group order Patacon & Cachapas Sand & Grilled Chk salad. The Cachapas tasted like my grandmothers. We enjoyed it!
free tequeno with yelp check-in!
Make sure you're hungry. That's all I'm going to say.
Had one earlier @HesterStreetFair found their restaurant *lovesss*
Village Voice is excited to have Patacon Pisao at the 2012 ChoiceEats food fest! Full list of restaurants here:
Patacones, cachapas, and arepas... Anything in their menu is awesome! Best Venezuelan joint in NY!
the cachapas of my dreams!
This Choice Eats attendee brought Patacon, Cachapas, Arepas, Tequenos, and Tres Leche...yummy!
El llanero patacon is so on point.
Best food at Choice Eats and went there today and it was even better. I am in love with the Cachapas. My goal is to try everything on the menu
All the patacones are worth your taste buds. If you eat here too often, switch it up with the arepas.
