    I saw an alligator, armadillo, tortoise, deer, and heron in an hour! It is an awesome and well-preserved place to look for wildlife:)

    In the summer bring your mosquito spray. Went to observation tower - did not see any bison . Saw 2 deer. Dogs are allowed.

    Get to Payne's Prairie early for the best chance to catch a glimpse of wildlife, including alligators, bison and horses.

    There is a plethora of wildlife on this Prairie. Grew up in Gainesville and always found serenity in this particular habitat.
