Waterfall walking is more fun than hiking trails and camping combined.

"Less well-known but equally spectacular as Enchanted Rock. The Pedernales River tumbles down limestone shelves, water collecting in turquoise pools among giant boulders. Great soundtrack + view."

This is a gorgeous state park. Trails aren't marked very well. Take the "Nature Trail" between campsites 20/21 to view the twin falls.

Wolf mountain trail is basically a kaliche road, not exactly our idea of a hiking trail. Try the other wonderful sights first, like the falls!

LOVE exploring this vast riverbed. Take the trail down from the scenic waterfall overlook. Cool rock formations, springs welling up out of the ground, clear water, isolated pools with lots of fish.

I just stopped in for photography. Not very interesting but might be good for camping.

Best primitive camping in Central Texas. Can't beat a 3 mile hike in and beautiful canyon bluffs.
