French Toast = sweet breakfast heaven. Super-thick slices of brioche w a crispy exterior & a luscious, custardy, bread-pudding-ish interior. Bonus: it's in a pool of delicious caramel sauce + bananas.

A beacon in a restaurant-deprived area. Get the dream-worthy Penny Egg Sandwich, breakfast & brunch are hard to match. The moist red velvet cake with fantastic frosting alone is worth the trip. Read more

One of my favorites. The well planned menu caters to a variety of palettes and has a dish for every meal. Skip the brunch lines and grab a late weeknight dinner! (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more

After reading the tips, I had to try the Penny egg sandwich (w/ chicken apple sausage). The eggs were cooked perfectly and it was delish! With strong coffee & great service at the bar, I'll be back!

Great breakfasts, cupcakes, and salads in quaint New England setting. Its arrival in Murray Hill nearly a decade ago launched a food renaissance in the neighborhood. Arrive at opening to avoid crowd.

Decadent brunch items like Nutella French toast and apple cider mimosas. Service & bottomless coffee are great, but they get really busy so the wait to nosh can be an hour or more with no reservations

The chorizo egg sandwich is amazingly good!!! Do it with the croissant. Definitely hit the spot and more!!! Also, the service is extremely attentive!!!!

Go with a friend during lunch. Get the three cheese grilled cheese and a BBLT. Now split. Amazing right? Best of both worlds and the bread they use is delicious. Fries are forgettable though...

If you prefer a shorter wait, skip the line and dine here on a weekday evening. The salmon burger is particularly good, made with a fresh salmon patty sandwiched between two fluffy brioche buns. Read more

The wait time is horrendous but well worth it. Both the BBLT & Nutella French toast (not as excessively sweet as you'd imagine) are excellent entrees to split with a friend. Now accepts credit cards.

Penelope is delicious, certainly. But for a just-as-yummy-if-not-better brunch/lunch/dinner/anytime spot, head one block west to Resto. No wait! Lots of seating! Friendly staff!

If you don't like waiting 30+ minutes for a table at brunch, try Penelope for dinner! Menu items are great and it's rarely crowded. When Veggie Met Sally is my go-to.

Brunch, Lunch or Dinner one of the best in Manhattan. Avoid the Hummus there are better options like Artichoke Dip! Warm Brie and Green Apple sandwich is amazing (especially with fakin bacon) yummo

Don't plan on getting seated or served quickly, at least not for Sat Brunch, but the menu is wonderful, the food amazing, the staff helpful, and the mimosas come with a heavy handed pour :-)

Heavenly breakfasts. Out-of-town friends love it. Arrive by 8 AM to avoid long wait times, especially during weekend brunch. Omelettes, cupcakes, and veggie burger especially great.

No reservations here and as everything in manhattan it gets really busy!! Plan to put your name down and give them your number so you can leave and they will text you when you're tables ready.

The perfect place to start your morning — especially on a weekday. The small cafe is usually hopping during brunch on weekends. During the week, though, you get the same homey atmosphere.

Amazing place for brunch. I love the Veggie Burger or when Veggie met Sally Salad, or the Penny Egg sandwich. Be warned the wait for brunch on the weekends can be 1-2 hours from 9am-3pm

40 women to 6 men - asked the bartenders and it is always like that. regardless, the spinach/artichoke dip rocked, mac n cheese was fantastic, so was the meatball salad. red velvet was disappointing.

Their regular lunch menu is quite pricey. Their chicken pot pie was absolute perfection but also cost $19. Loved their service and their cute vintage-y decor!

Love this place, cozy and great food. They need to start taking reservations, wait time is a joke '90 minutes' ppl may just be too discouraged to come period.

They don't do substitutions so make sure to check the menu before coming. For brunch, feast on the Nutella French toast (sweet) or BBLT (savory)...pumpkin waffles when in season.

Faced with the classic brunch conundrum of Sweet vs Savory, get the waffles with toasted coconut & strawberries. Nothing savory about it but you won't mind. The wait is not as bad as they say it is.

Cash only, often long lines, but worth it. I often judge a comfort food place by its BLT's. Penelope has a BBLT. Yeah, that's right -- double bacon. Win.
