I love escalators because you would never see a "escalator out of service" sign, it would just say "escalator temporarily stairs...sorry for the convenience." -Mitch Hedburg

During RUSH there are more Yellow than Blue coming through here.

Pay attention to RUSH trains (Yellow may not end where you think it will end) - Read destination on the train sign on the outside of each car.

Doors open on the left. The Yellow and Blue lines split at this station (going towards DC). This is a split-level station, so "U-Turns" are on a separate level.
  • The Transit Navigator
If you're on the Blue line from Franconia-Springfield, it is often faster to transfer to the Yellow line… even if you're continuing on the Blue line (transfer back to Blue at L'Efant).

When you see a mass of people walking up/down a stopped escalator because the other is being serviced do you REALLY need to walk against us?

Check wmata.com for train times before the train comes if you hate waiting, and give yourself the proper time to get there if you hate running

If you are standing in the doorway of the metro car can you get off for just one second so the people can get off without you blocking it causing a backup?

Remember your SmarTrip Card! (Maybe keep a spare one in your desk). And register it online in case it gets lost or stolen.

Did you know that at least 54% of employers in the DC area offer incentives for using alternative forms of transportation? See if your company is one of them.

I think they turn off the escaltors from the lower platform to make people miss buses

Don't take photographs here. Federal agents will take you into a room and waterboard you if you do.
