People tend to check in during these times:
Hidden amid the dramatic rock formations of Wadi Musa in Jordan, lies the ancient Nabataean city of Petra. Its magnificent facades were carved out of the red-hued rock more than 2,000 years ago; today it is a UNESCO World Heritage site and in 2007 was voted one of the New 7 Wonders...
Def make it to the monastery if you have the time and stamina
High enterance fee and with a guide is was even more (we did not take one). We walked all day and we could not even visit everything. Great holiday experience
Wake up early and be in Petra no later than 7:30 AM. You won't regret it + you'll beat the crowds.
GO VISIT! And start before 7! LOVELY!!!!
Get in through the north east entrance, right next to the small village, at 2 PM. 20-min walk to the start of the stairs to The Monastery... Petra will be for you only, no people back to The Treasury.
the Monastery is not the only place worth visiting. for a less crowded, less strenuous experience w great views - try the High Place of Sacrifice instead!
It's the most expensive entrance fee I've ever paid, but well worth it! There is ancient energy flowing in this place...
A must for Jordan visitors; it would be nice to make the entrance fee cheaper
It's a huge place. Set aside at least 2 days rather than a quick visit
Do not miss the high places!
Amazing treasury! This is the must to visit before you die!
This place is amazing !!
The High Place of Sacrifice is very high. Worth the effort as the view is great. As is the hike up the 800+ steps to the Monastery. Its size will hold you with a superb view across towards Israel.
Start early, head back to your hotel around three... Go for a swim, grab a quick dinner and come back for night at Petra!
You have to see this wonder before you die
Worth visiting if you are ever in Jordan .. Best time to go is either in autumn or spring ..lots of walking so don't forget to wear your running shoes
Start early. Take hat and lots of water.
Awesome awesome place. One tip is to not to hire a private guide or go all the way to the monastery if you are pressed on time. Instead do the 2 hiking trails in between the Treasury and the Theater.
If you need a good workout💪. This is it. Wear closed shoes, hat, sunscreen, long sleeves & don't forget your water. Start early in the morning, if your walking. Toilets are available through the route
Seven wonders of the world
Best to go around 8:30am to njoy without getting burnt.only snacks available so better take lunch along or fruits since it's a Gud 4-5 hr tour.toilets available so keep sipping water.
Impressive site, with all the monuments and tombs carved and polished on the montains. The monastery is worth a visit (850 steps up), it's facade is bigger than the Treasue and the view is amazing
Beautiful! Must visit!
Great place, just great, no more words!
You can not Pay with credit card!! Really deserves to make all the way up.
Incredible and magic!
Take a pair of normal shoes as you'll need to walk a lot. Don't forget to put on pants which are not very precious as there are a lot of dusts :) p.s. The smell during the walk is shitty
Love it ♥ but never gonna do it again :)
Stunning scenery. People are generally friendly. Prepare yourself for a LOT of walking, sun exposure and horse dung smell. Don't stop at The Treasury, walk on for more beautiful things.
Rich food at good prices. near the entrance to Petra. They have free wifi, and computers to connect to the internet and pass cards photos to cd
Very pretty! recommended to wake up early to see it at the sunrise and not be surrounded by bustling tours
It's a great adventure to go to !
Don't pay too much and always bargain!! 15$ per person from the treasury to the entrance on any animal is reasonable.
Plan this trip when having lots of time!! There is a lot to see!! Dress lightly, as its very hot. Walk down to the treasury and the old city first and then take an animal (camel, horse or donkey).
The pushy vendors are from the Bedouin tribe told to leave their homes there decades back - the right to hustle tourists must be a trade off
Be sure to go all the way in, and get to royal tombs, monastery, and remains of 3 Byzantine churches. Spend a whole day or two. Named one of 7 wonders of the modern world!
Take a scarf Help windy or hot weather
Great place! Do not skip the rise to the monastery and the views to the mountains beyond monastery!!! Unpleasant local "street sellers" include children.
Petra is really amazing, spend min. two days
Been here a long long time ago (on my 1st Umra and my 1st time visiting middle east w/ my fam),, Awesome place and Historical Places at Amman, Jordan. #mustvisitplacesbeforeyoudie
Petra is an awesome place - a must do. Put it on your Bucket List !!
