Park in the frog lot on the street behind the zoo. So much easier to get out.
An early-morning, Christmas Eve fire in the 'World of Primates' building killed 23 animals in 1995, all endangered species. In 1999, the 'Peco Primate Reserve' opened to replace the lost building.
If you have a family, get a membership! One visit a year and it practically pays for itself! You get entry to the Treehouse with it as well.

The big snapping turtle is named Meatball. He breathes air, so if you wait long enough, he'll have to move, and that is an impressive sight indeed.
Its a great place to bring your children (as an excuse to come yourself)!

Go see the polar bears! Love seeing them swim from the lower viewing area.
Go as soon as they open (9am). You'll beat the crowds and more animals are awake then!
