Absolute must-do if visiting the Park! For the love of everything that is good, do NOT take flash photos & speak up if someone is! The Imagineers craft perfectly lit scenes and the flash ruins them!

When the line splits take the right side. It moves faster. The hidden Mickey is the dangling explosives towards the end

One of the best rides at Disney land, hands down. Worth the hour wait that's it's probably going to be for you.

Ride tells the story very well but not that exciting. Suits all ages. Couple of medium speed drops but nothing too bad. Visually very impressive.

Line always moves fast. Sit in front. Keep eyes open for Capt Jack thru out ride. Plan ahead and book lunch/dinner at Blue Bayou within ride.

Always a must for any Disneyland trip. I love how it smells in this ride. It smells like happiness. Trust me on this one.

Great ride on a hot day. You'll be in the sun for a bit during the first part of the line, but you'll cool off A LOT inside and on the ride

The one and only. They've done a good job of integrating the movies while keeping the classic vibe. Yo ho yo ho!

Fun, relaxing ride. One of the better dark rides in the park. I do wish they'd cut back some of the Jack Sparrow content, though.

Amazing what they put together - you ride in a boat inside the building and it seems really long so definetly don't miss this ride!

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me. We extort, we pilfer, we filch, and sack, Drink up me hearties, yo ho. Maraud and embezzle, and even high-jack, Drink up me hearties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me. We're beggars and blighters, ne'er-do-well cads, Drink up me hearties, yo ho. Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads, Drink up me hearties, yo ho.

Lines are usually pretty long throughout the day, wait till almost park close to ride and it will be near walk on.

My favorite Disneyland ride of all time! This is one of the longest rides at Disney. Great to go on during hot days, since it is nice and cool.

We never tire of this wonderful ride. Mildly thrilling (a couple of descents down rapids in near-total darkness), delightfully funny, with great implied narrative.

You really really really want to take the right line, especially when the wait is long. The left side has a whole extra wait behind the ride. You will think they've taken you out back to mug you.

Always stay to the right in line...much faster. The left line goes behind the building.

If the line is really long, (has you waiting outside the footbridge) choose the right hand lane when it splits. You won't have to wait around the side of the building that way. :) Have a magical day!

The ride may not be suitable for little ones. The boat ride has two drops that are in the dark. The whole thing had my 5 year old in tears. It scared the heck out of her, very Unexpectedly.

The story goes that the skull used for the dead pirate captain in bed is the only real skull on the ride. The Mellon of one of the ride's creators.

NO FLASH PICTURES, please. It makes the ride an unpleasant experience for everyone on the boat. Be respectful of others!

Early in the morning the wait can be very short, as the day progresses ... expect long waits. Old timers, hit this early and move on. ;)

One of the tamest rides in the park. Make sure you're paying close attention - the storyline is easily missed otherwise. Keep an eye out for Jack Sparrow!

The skull and bones on the headboard of the bed with the skeleton looking at a magnifying glass is an imagineer who helped design the ride.

Don't just bang randomly on the door like a fool. Proper etiquette is to knock "shave and a haircut" and let the other side finish the "two bits." Or if other side starts, you finish.

If your taking photos, DO NOT USE FLASH!!! It ruins the experience for you and everyone around you. Just because you get away with out them using the intercom to tell you to stop does not mean its OK.

If there is no one in line you can actually get back on without actually walking to the entrance. Just ask!

Go on this ride later in the day. I went on it around 7 at night and the line was no longer than 10 or 15 minutes. Also, the ride was slower at this time and there was more fog in one of the sections.

Don't be fooled. The two lines look identical in length but the one on left snakes around the side of the building. Always go right.

Wave to the people eating dinner but don't shout at them if they don't notice you. It's just rude, you're not the only boat that's going to float past during their meal.

Look for the (now mostly hidden behind a pile of crates) picture of history's most famous lesbians - Anne Bonney & Mary Reade - just inside the building entrance to the left.

Avoid the handicap entrance (at the exit) if you can, as the line for this is usually significantly longer than just waiting in the regular queue (usually 10 min or less anyways)

Used to think Right side was quicker but 3 times now left has been 2-3 boats ahead of the Right. Does that mean Pirates is a Democrat??!!

Just as the ride begins there is a cabin to the left of the boat with an alligator in the water. Just past the gator are floating lily pads in a recognizable Mickey shape.

When the line splits in 2 in front choose the right side! It's way shorter bc it doesn't double back behind the ride

If u have hyper kids, have someone from ur party stay in line and stay to the right when the line splits while u and the kids stay by Royal St Veranda and wait. Hop in with them when they get there.
