REALLY great food – listed as Italian but really seasonal, local, fresh and extremely well-executed. They have an adorable little pizza place right next door. -Monica Pope, Top Chef
This pizza is a hot item. Now is not the time to share. #DontBlowIt
SF Weekly's Best Of 2011 - Reader's Poll - BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT
Craig Stoll cooks Italian food here through the lens of the Bay Area: hyperseasonal, locally sourced, and as primally satisfying as the home cooking of a Tuscan nonna. The panna cotta is legendary.
get the meatballs
The Panna pizza is off the hook. It's like penne a la vodka but in a pizza form (and without penne of course).
If you're a vegetarian, get the panna. Meat eaters, the prosciutto pie is the best. Also, remember that they don't seat incomplete parties!
Generally much shorter wait during week days! Free bread sticks is a nice touch!
Try the 4 Formaggi Pizza

take home some of their pizza dough (only $3.50) and bake your custom creation at home. delicious and super simple.
THEY PLAY MOS DEF
Thank them for carrying local root beer from Devils Canyon Brewery!
Get the Margherita and some marinated olives.
Call ahead & take it to go.
Go classic margarita pizza.
Salsiccia pizza. Broccoli raab pizza. Done.
Best pizza I've ever had. The panna pizza is to die for! Delicious!
Brussel sprouts. Omg.
Prosciutto Pie + pint of Peroni is a good combo.
Go off the usual list of pizzas and ask staff what they like - you won't be disappointed
Get the Brocoli Raab! It's better than the Magherita which is on 7x7's Big Eat list!
Go on a night Arancini are on the specials. Even crazier than the pizza.
Margarita pizza, meatballs, and tricolore salad is the perfect meal for two.
Everything. Personal favorite: broccoli rabe pizza, stuffed shells, gelato

Anything with crazy or magic in the name of the dish must be eaten
Hurry before it is gone - order the Crazy Melon special - amazing!
Wow, everything is spectacular.
The Panna pizza lives up to the hype. Bold tomatoes enlivened with a splash of cream and melting ribbons of Parmigiano-Reggiano!
Try the Prosciutto Pizza
Come during lunchtime during the week when there's no wait!
Try the fried pig ears w/ lime & chili oil, it sounds weird but they're delicious.
Don't worry about picking the wrong thing here- everything's amazing. But it definitely ain't undiscovered, so come at an off time if you can - this place is slammed even at off hours.
The buratta is a mind blower. Do it.
Really solid pizza (even from a New Yorker) and delicious vegetable sides
Tripe & cauliflower
Cool ambiance and delicious pizza with a thin crust!
Haven't tried the pizza, but the food was great.
The meatballs are a hustle. The waitress will recommend them and you'll think it's a good idea, but they're 15 dollars. Taste: 8/10. Value: 3/10. Just double up on the pie. Love the chalkboard.
It's alright. Think the hype killed it for me.
If you are a vegetarian, skip margarita and order broccoli raab pizza
The only problem with this location is that they take a long time with everything compared to the one next to tartine
Get the classics!
Amatraciana pizza is delicious. Wish pizzas were larger because slices are gone in 3 bites.
Brussel sprouts & pizza
Oh my goodness the mushroom pizza is so decadent and delicious.
