Rooftop restaurant. Nice view and far away from the snakes. ;-)
Gonna miss this place !!
Eating out at the food stands at night in the Djema el Fnaa, the pulsing heart of the city, amazing. Choose a stand that is crowded and you will be happy
Marrakech, the medina that never sleeps, because everything would get stolen or raped.
Avoid the street sellers, henna tattoo women and other tourist traps. Just say 'Merci' and keep walking. You really should try the orange juice from the many juice stalls, it's totally refreshing!
The fresch orange juice is delicious!!!!Only €0,40 a glass.
#117 takes you to heaven
How to navigate food stall hustlers: do not say a single word, do not make eye contact, keep moving no matter what - no matter how polite they are or what question they ask.
Stand n.1 absolutely the best: veggie cous cous, mixed brochettes, green peppers and wonderful bread!
A must see if you are visiting Marrakesh especially at night
Saw lots of locals eating at stand #20 and decided to join them. Turned out to be a good call. Very good aubergine salad, fried squid and veal skewer - freshly cooked.
Pretty cool place, as long as you dont mind donkeys, mopeds and people selling shit. Pick a cafe with a rooftop terrace to rise above the chaos.
This place is diffrent every hour of day. You have to come more than one...
Watch out for the snake charmers. If you look at them, they come running with a snake at you !
Check this place out at night, its got an amazing atmosphere. The smoke from the food stalls rise over the thousands of people, story tellers, games, merchants and hustlers.
Prueba los caracoles de Ahmet. Puesto número 6. ¡Riquísimos!. Taste Ahmet snails. The ones from box nr 6. They are very good!! :-)
Stall #50 for orange juice! They will give you an extra portion when you finished, to go back next day!! Nice guys and worth it. They will prepare it in front of you when you ask
The snake charmers are rude, if they're not happy with the amount of money you offer, they may throw away the money & insult you.
At night: food stall 41 is really worth paying a visit. Nice staff and good food!
Cafè de france is the best place to have a glass of tea. Enjoy the view.
Mint tea at one of the cafes on the square in early evening is ideal for watching the square come to life.
Take lunch at restaurant AQUA
#25 has great food and promised no diarrhea for 2 years.
Have snails. Ask for salt in your orange juice. Have mulled tea and spiced bean curd with the locals. The food stalls are overrated but OK for a snack. Avoid the baboons and snakes.
Stall #55 is the worst I've eaten at. Never eat there. Super bad meat and rude waiters!!!
head to one of the local stands in the evening to enjoy an egg-potato sandwich with the locals (10Dhm). Soup and gateau afterwards will cost you not more than 6Dhm.
Go to the Grand Balcone of Cafe Glacier and claim a table overlooking the square for sunset action.
A square of colors, smells and sounds. Enjoy every second to observe the daily life of Moroccans. Be sure to try the orange juice. It's delicious!
Find a cafe round the edges of the square with a terrace to get a good people watching spot :)
Snakes! Snakes everywhere!:)
Stall 31 is the best one on the floor. Popular with locals for the liver (which doesn't taste like liver) and sausages.
Look for "Bienvenue chez Abdelghani" - shop N•125 - best "harira" dealer :) (Moroccan traditionnal soupe)
Is very easy to get lost there, but don't be afraid. Just go with enough time, and don't be afraid to bargain & purchase a nice souvenir
Make sure you visit stall #31 - delicious food and great atmosphere. Also give the snails and sheep's head a go while you're here!
Stall #31: good sausages, tomato sauce questionable (for hygiene). The problem comes with the bill: triple check the prices coz they'll always try to charge you a lot more... 30% more in my case.
Hoopla & halqa nonstop here since plaza was used for public executions in about 1050 - hence its name: 'assembly of the dead'. Gnaoua musicians steal the show working everyone in ecstatic trance.
