People tend to check in during these times:
POLPO, a Venetian style bacaro, occupies the ground floor and basement of an early 18th century building in Soho, once home to the painter Canaletto, perhaps the best known and most prolific visual chronicler of Venice.
Great setting for a lively yet romantic date. The dishes were decent. However, for £40 for two including a glass of wine, you can make better choices in London than Polpo.
Good way to get full by tasting a little from everything. Lovely staff.
Try the meatballs
decent tapas, nothing special though. good service and lively place!
Great food but terrible service when we went
Italian tapas, pizzetta
No problem getting a table, food was great, if a little pricy. Try the Elderflower Martini!
The bruschetta was amazing - goat cheese grape and walnut. However, be careful of one of the waiter, who scammed me. Said I only gave him 20 quid when both my friends saw me give 40.
The food is excellent regardless, but an intimate meal at the bar is a much better experience than as a group at a table.
Nice for an Italian nibble. Not worth an hour wait and the scattered service could use more polish.
Overpriced tapas (2 tiny caprese sticks costing £3!) that is mixed but friendly staff and quick to arrive at the table
Nice small plates to share or eat more than one!
Overpriced small rations. A bit of dullness in the plates, happy to pay good money for little treasures, but not that's not the case in this restaurant.
Not a bad thing on the menu!!
Delicious appetizers. Try the octopus and the arancini. Very good!
The food is excellent with exciting and interesting flavors. Good place to go for sharing and trying lots of small plates. Excellent Campari bar downstairs, great atmosphere.
Great small dishes
Wonderful tapas in the heart of soho. Must try the sautéed octopus.
Get the pork meatballs and ask for some bread to sop up the extra sauce
Love cod & lentils, soft egg pizza and meat balls. But the waiters are quite pushy...keeps asking if any dish is finished. But foods itself and atmosphere is nice. Will come back definitely.
Not what it once was but Spinach & egg pizette and Ox cheek are superb
Nice trendy Italian tapas great for night out with friends
Duck ragu, chickpea balls, roast tatties and spicy pork meatballs were all very good. Quite cosy/on top of each other.
Valentines day lunch, superb food and great service as ever.
It's nice but overrated. Amazing affogato though.
Woof! Potent cocktails... Vin Santo cannoli makes a nice mini dessert (but pricey)
Totally overrated and overpriced.
Bruschetta, pizzette, meatballs.
Lovely Italian tapas place. Take a good company with you and try to order as many different dishes as possible. Everything tastes good (loved the chickpea&spinach meatballs and their pizzettas).
Great all around!
Delicious food and drinks worth the visit but it's very busy with tables really close to each other
Don'’t believe the hype: despite the rave reviews and hour-long wait, the food is very, very average. Tables are separated by about 5cm, resulting in an extremely loud environment.
A great Italian place that's very authentic abs pleasant to dine in. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. Plenty to choose from. Affogato for dessert is a wise choice!
Really surprised how good the food is here. Think this might become a regular spot.
Great music - relaxed atmosphere - food looks good - hope it tastes just as food
Get one of the meatballs and a negroni.
Love it!! Really nice small dishes of Italian food!!
Italian tapas. Fantastic place.
Compared to their sister site Spuntinos service is far too stiff and the food is on the bland side.
Meat balls are very good!
really enjoyed the liver and flank steak with truffle cream. meatballs weren't anything special.
Great food... Order as many dishes as possible always great trying lots
Venetian inspired tapas, rustic and genuine. Everything is good.
All of it. The veal is amazing, much as we should disagree.
The cocktails were great but honestly not worth the wait. Nothing special.
The food is good but not mind-blowing considering the restaurant's reputation - think of it as a very small, dark branch of Carluccio's. The gelato is mediocre at best.
One of the best meal place in Lndn
Don't follow the hype - it's really nothing special... 1.5hrs wasted waiting for 2 bar seats.
If you are sitting at the bar eating don't sit directly under the air conditioning unit - you're food gets very cold very quick.
