    It's no wonder this airport has been voted the best in USA. The security staff are the nicest in the country (see, you can be thorough+civil). They also have a kiddie play area which is a nice touch

    Flew in on Alaskan Air. We were directed to a gate located far away from the terminal. Although the walkway was covered there were rain puddles everywhere. Not a pleasant trek. (I had a cane)

    My home airport! Lines at security always look crazy, but they move so fast. TSA agents are kinder here than anywhere else. Also, go down to the A gates to see some of the famous old PDX carpet!

    If the lines are long to drop off your bag after getting boarding passes cleared for international travel, check the outside curb drop off. There was zero line and two agents. Quickest bag drop ever!

    If you have a layover, there's a small, usually quiet and always comfy sitting area halfway between C and D gates off the pedestrian walkway where you can watch the planes.

    Neat airport with several good local eating and drinking places. The Max Light Rail picks up outside and can take you downtown. The weather here can make it a bumpy ride on take off or landings.

    What's good here? The restaurants are awesome. Stanford's, Mo's, Roses, Rogue Brewing and Gustavs. Voted Americas best airport for a reason, it's clean, nice and modern.

    There are 2 security gates. Both offer access to all gates. If one is slammed, chances are the other is empty. Use the junction just before both security lines to get to the other side.

    Lots of Horizon Air flights are based out of here and so are mainline Alaska Airlines flights, they have this as their hub so connection times are sometimes cutting it short

    If the security line for A,B&C is long, you can go through the one for D, there's a corridor connecting them...

    TSA Pre-Check is available at the ABC security check. Don't worry about taking your shoes off, your computer's out of your bag, and no need to empty those pockets.

    TSA Pre ✔ is nice but you have to wait in line with the other premiers to have your ID checked (rather than having a separate line) and flight crews also use it so it isn't always faster.

    No matter what gate you're flying out of, go through security for D and E. the line is shorter and there's a connector post-security if you're flying out of A, B or C.

    Security is split A, B, C and D, E. Always take D, E. Most expect more lanes to mean faster security, so it gets disproportionately busier, and thus takes much longer than you'd expect.

    The center lobby area has mellow, live music, charging stations, plenty of seating, and great food options :) Plus it's pretty aesthetically pleasing. Definitely my new favorite airport.

    Caper's Cafe offers pretty good home cooked food. It's healthier than most airport eateries and has a nice wine bar with several local wines. The Stone Cap Cab is good and only $7.

    The A, B, and C gates security check point typically takes longer than D and E, and the are all connected once you get through security. If one point is backed up, try the other side.

    If either security check point is backed up, just go to the other one. A hallway connects all gates between D & C.
