Dnešní železniční stanice Praha hlavní nádraží byla uvedena do provozu v roce 1871 jako Nádraží císaře Františka Josefa na Dráze císaře Františka Josefa z Vídně přes České Budějovice a Benešov do Prahy. V letech 1919-40 a 1945-53 nesla název Praha Wilsonovo nádraží.
See the historical railway station at the ground level. Quite nice. Public transport tickets are at -2 level as well the tourist office. They don't take cards. Cash only.
Do not trust the painted steam automaton on platform 8. It appeared there during a torque storm.
The Airport Express bus is the most efficient and cheapest way to get to Václav Havel Airport (PRG).
Don't exchange your money at the station! I exchanged 400 Euros, they took around 70 Euros as service charge! It's better to wait until you're in town..
Free wifi and bila supermarket is great for picking up simple food for your journey.
It's not hard to get lost there. Students can connect to eduroam wi-fi.
If you forget to buy souvenirs, you can find quite many stores at the station
Free Wifi is the only plus here as you better not need help the staff is rude and most who will help you they may pick your pockets. Supermarket on site and visit the old station if you have time
Takes a bit of getting used to and make sure you're not in a hurry
Now free Wi-Fi is there!
Cool station, if u need a fast snack, Billa is always the best.
There's free Wi-Fi. You can watch movies in 5D. There's all the kind of stores (supermarket, coffee, bio store, library, ...). You can also take visit the old train station if you have enough time.
The local train company staff is very rude and wouldn't help. So come early if you need to print tickets and etc. also best if u print ur ticket esp.if you are traveling with an inter.railway comp.
Watch out, pickpockets are everywhere!
Its like an airport...Really impressive...
Very well connected with the airport and the main landmarks
Come early enough to grab groceries from Billa, a book from Luxor plus pastries, chocolates pralines and more for the journey and gifts for yourself and loved ones.
Save yourself the time in line and grab your rail ticket from the machine near the metro entrance.
Free wifi available downstairs at the ticket desks
Velke nadrazi,plno somraku,turistu a podobne
The lockers are a great deal - one locker fit large bags for four of us while we explored the city. It was 60 CZK (~$3 USD) for the day, and the area seemed very secure.
Best exchange rate for € or $ I found was at UniCredit Bank at lower level. Avoid currency exchange kiosks. And like everyone mentioned, taxis are sleazy and will overcharge.
Pekne zrekonstruovane a ciste nadrazi.
After reconstruction very nice rail-station with direct access to subway. If you have time, try to visit also old building, it is really nice piece of architecture...
Big station with a lot of options while waiting for your train. Big enough for Prague.
Confused about your train options? The information desk is the second ticket window from the left.
For the love of God, don't change your money here! They have crazy fees! Try to reach the city center and change it inside one of the many commercial galleries there.
We go back in reality
WC costs 20kc or 1 Euro per person
Best coffee is at briocche doree
Waiting for a train in hot summer day? Try ice cream in Leonidas!
If you need change for the metro there is a change machine in the baggage locker area that takes 100 or 200 CZD.
Do not exchange your money at forexchange. The commision's almost 20%.
Looks like train station in Moscow, but well cleaned
If u going to buy tickets don't do it in the machines ! Home less people will try to convince to give them money , anyway great service and free wifi
Watch out for people who want to "help" you to find the right platform, they just want money and you don't need their help anyway.
Relax/wait in the CD Lounge on the platform floor if you have a 1st Class EU Rail pass. Padded seats, heated room & free wi-fi.
Last minute option to buy Marlenka at Billa Supermarket
Long waiting is slightly better thanks to sunshine
Coffee and food automates in the south underpass.
U can't pay with CC in Relay shop, damn
Visit the old historical Fantova hall, it has been renovated recently and looks just amazing.
Cannot say that this is modern train station becauae it's full of gypsies and junkies. The trains are good though.
Specialni design lavicek - zelezo jako hlavni material. Vysledek? Tlaci a studi. Mozna opatreni proti sedenichtivym bezdomovcum?
Cekarna regiojet mile prekvapila. Kafco a klid zdarma :)

Beware the taxi stand! They pretend that your destination is in the furthest zone, to charge you more. If you are staying is zones 1 & 2 (most everybody), then your ride is 28 CHK or just a bit more.
