If there's a long wait, leave your name walk around until you are called. If price matters, its overpriced. If not, order the mofongo with churrasco! Anything else almost doesn't seem worth it.

Crap. Avoid at all costs. Tourist trap.

Try the infamous chuleta kan-kan (as seen in man vs. food). Dragonberry mojito & and mofongo are a can't-miss.

Food is good but service was terrible!!! Waited 30 mins for salad appetizer I ordered was not available, I was told this 20 mins after ordering. "special of the day" was not available, but not told.

I waa told to try Raices before coming to Old San Juan, even the park rangers at the fort and a cop on the street said it was the best. I was not disappointed! This is a must stop in Old San Juan!

The ceviche was yummy! I couldn't eat after days of meat-filled Puerto Rican meals. This, plus rice and beans did the trick.

Soups are wonderful. The monfongo was not as good as I was hoping.

We didn't have a wait and the service was ok. The other reviewers were right about the food. It's not bad, but it's certainly not good. And it's overpriced.

This is a great spot to try mofongo, which is mashed green plantains stuffed with fish or meat and served in a traditional wooden mortar and pestle. Read more

You really go here for the name or for the kick back taxi + hotel employees get… service sucks and food is ok but overpriced… go 2 doors down to Inarú or Al Dente… bit expensive but food is amazing

Don't let the decor inside or the staff authentic clothes fool you. Only bad experience we had in PR & wished we skip this place! The mofongo was very salty & dry. Go to Cafe Puerto Rico instead!

Don't believe the hype the mofungo is ok at best. It's also super duper over priced

Run as fast and as far away as you can. Perhaps the only place on the island that has access to frozen fish. Awful is the best was to describe the food.

Tough pork chops, undercooked rice, overcooked mahi mahi (had the texture of chicken!) Yeah, this is basically the puerto Rican Chilli's (with the disgruntled employees to match.) And overpriced too!
