The "grumpy looking" tree in the south of the park, with an overgrown trunk and misshapen branches, is a hundred-year-old plane tree. It's one of the Trees for Cities charity's Great Trees of London.

Venue for a great family firework display in November. Annoying commentator aside, the 8pm adult show was fantastic, and there's also a quieter show for children beforehand.
