The first Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, Grunts still exudes the funky, devil-may-care lifestyle of the 70s in its style, décor, music, and menu.
Went on a very crowded evening during the holidays, but service was great and food was tasty!
If you like spicy food, get the hottest wings they have. I got the "Really Hot" and didn't think they were spicy at all. The peanut butter shake is incredible.
Great suprise around the corner. Buffalo wings are to die for. Super cosy bar.
Place rocks. Music is all 70s . Totally go back.
French onion soup!
Decent food for the price
2 hours and 45 minutes for a seat?!?!? This place must be good
The chili wasn't that spectacular; hearty but not much flavor, to be honest
Considering I keep hearing good things, the wings are rather disappointing, and I had the Super Hot Buffalo; they're not really that hot and definitely not very plump or juicy :-(
Kid friendly. Mother approved. Park your stroller outside with a complimentary lock.
The salad and soup buffet is DELICIOUS! 😍 Great music, the bartender is really cute. If you came by yourself, sit on the bar. Free wifi.
The burgers are good and the kitchen is open later than most kitchens in the area.
Amazing salad bar and tasty burgers!
One of the best hamburguers in my life!
There are only two places I will eat ground meat. RJ Grunts tops my list! They also have very good gluten-free buns, and you never know who you'll run into there. :-)
talk to the adorable little bartender called ella. give her all the money in your wallet/purse/bank account for tip.
Great place and amazing service! Lauren was awesome!
delicious greasy grub (and a salad bar!) in a typical 70s atmosphere. the music is excellent but it's the service that really stands out, from the minute you set foot through the revolving door. A++
Get anything with the name "grunt" in it
Loved the yowza burger - peppercorn beef, spicy ketchup, pepper jack & smoked bacon. Save room for a shake! Ask for a booth by the window for views of the park.
Was here once a million years ago. I think it was fine. Remember drinking Newcastle and enjoying it. I guess its named for some bird the owner was giving it to or something. That's funny.
So, do you get the famous burgers or the famous salad bar? Split a burger and each get the salad bar! The kitchen even cut our burger in half and served it on two plates.
3 dollar tall boy PBRs might be the best regular drink special in the area
Order the buffalo chicken nachos! They are perfection!
Kind of an unorganized mess getting in on a weekend. Tons of children running around. Big salad bar, burgers... Basically if you are not close enough to Ruby Tuesdays or TgiFridays go here
Haven't been here for years. Still the same. Great food, salad bar and service. Classic!!
The burgers are amazing!
Go for the salad bar. Burgers are great too. It's a little cramped but fun atmosphere. Great place to go before or after zoo
1st Lettuce Entertain You restaurant
great good and service, highly recommend this restaurant! Try the Salad Bar!
R J Grunts has improved on the classic grilled cheese by simply adding...more cheese. No one can claim this thing is balanced, but that's really not the point.
The California wrap is excellent.
I can't really recommend their house cocktails: stick to beer and wine.
Not worth it. Sh*t show. Front is totally unorganized. Tables are jammed. Hard to maneuver with kids.
One of the best veggie burgers I've had!
The Sunday special, Dixie Chicken, is outstanding.
The grunt burger is the best!!
The shakes are great!
Best salad bar in Chicago, unbelievable chili and to die for burgers...paired with your favorite pint and you can't go wrong!
The French dip was pure perfection
Food is great here, except don't get anything with Ranch, it's terrible.
If you get Curtis as a bartender you are lucky. He is a total hottie!
Don't bring your girlfriends sister, she'll run up the tab
Mo k. U r not here.
Sooooo much history. Soooo much fun!
