Been here very long time ago but I can definitely say it is the perfect "get-to-know-French-food" restaurant. With a black sausage and escargot for starters and a beautiful stake for main course!
First time there in 20 years. Much has changed, not for the better, still, the Côte de boeuf is the best piece of meat you will ever put in your mouth. This institution is a must.

I saved this place weeks before my arrival, but French schedule delayed my visit. After finally had a chance to eat here I can say it's TOTALLY WORTH IT! Food was delicious, a 10/10.
Fire roasted meats, cozy rustic setting, very charming.
Atmosphere & service were great. Meat was very tough and didnt actually look like a "cote de boeuf". I would go back to try another cut of meat. Cheap which makes me wonder about quality of meat

I guess it is one of the best original French steak houses in Paris. Beautiful interior and extremely good meet done on wooden grill.
The venison and steak was amazing. The potatoes were perfectly cooked. The desert of apple crumble is cooked just right and was a great end to our evening meal.

The food was ok, but not as good as i expected after reading the comments below. The service was very quick. A bit too quick actually. I think we were outside within 40 minutes.
If a côte de boeuf is just a little to much , the entrecôte au feu du bois is a great alternative---specially when accompanied by des champignons
Don't miss the 'Blind Test' after 23:00 when the place lights up and patrons have to guess the song (French and International) C'est extraaaaa...

While you’re in the Marais, you should make a point to go to this cozy, brick-walled restaurant which specializes in hearth cooked meats. That said, the duck confit is to die for.

La cote de bœuf pour 2 à 46 euros cuite au feu de bois, est la meilleure de Paris. Un endroit à voir et à revoir. Attention pensez à réserver.

Le cadre est sympa et les viandes succulentes, je vous recommande la côte de bœuf de 900g à partager. Dommage que le service soit si moyen malgré le peu de tables. Pensez à réserver !
