People tend to check in during these times:
Welcome to the Robinson Library, the main library of Newcastle University. We are a large, friendly academic library, and we are the only academic library in the United Kingdom to receive the Charter Mark award for excellence five times in a row. http://www.facebook.com/NULibraries
Leave a tip about the Library, or a photo, and the best tip and the best photo will get a FABULOUS prize. Competition ends 30st May 2014
You'll unlock this special every time you check in.
Only available to those people who can collect their prize in person.
Have you seen the Robinson rabbits? If you walk along towards the Civic Centre at dusk you will see lots of our furry friends :-)
If you are a Skype user we have a number of Skype work stations in the Robinson Library, in the Learning Lounge, next to the Cafe.
Next Day Loan books are shelved with the Long Loan books, but have high overdue charges if returned late (£1.00 a day).
In the snowy weather, the hill between Haymarket and the Robinson Library can get treacherous so stay next to the balustrade and use it as a handrail.
Have a chat with the lib staff! They are super duper friendly & helpful!
Don't be an idiot like me and wait ages to start your work. Seriously, don't do it.
The group study rooms are really cool and are isolated even from the keyboard click sounds from the computer clusters, making a silent place.
The group room with the computer is the perfect place to practise a presentation. If everyone is on the same course go together for moral support+feedback!
Please bring back the old cloth library bags! They may have been 50p more but the quality was better and I could carry more books in it because it had a square shape. The new ones aren't worth buying.
Silent area on 4th floor had the best seats
Have you used one of our great new laptops? Borrow one from the level 2 Service Desk in Robinson Library. You can use Microsoft Office without going through RAS & save direct to your personal folder.
Get here at night. Much nicer and more peaceful atmosphere. Plus outside there are rabbits everywhere
Get here super early in the morning during the exam months to shot gun a plug socket and/or computer!
Use m.ncl.ac.uk to find computers if you can't find one. Or come at night, loadsa room!
Best place to study
If you need a caffeine boost - the cups in the café hold 3 espresso shots!
Don't be late returning books from STC. On my receipt I was one minute late and instantly got charged £1 for each book!
Wanna skype? Use the computers in the learning lounge! They are fully equipped for a talk with your friends and family around the world.
Checkt out the miniature model of the library in the second floor!
This is a really pretty place in the autumn!
The skype area is the party area
Fourth floor silent study area has some beautiful views over Newcastle!
Definitely one of the best academic libraries I've ever been to. Fantastically helpful and personable staff, a huge collection, and open 24 hours. 10 out of 10!
During exams period, when you enter the library... WOW! You can see thousands of super hardworking people here.
Excellent studet- service. Do not hesitate to ask for info, everyone will welcome you with a smile!
Always hot guys roaming around somewhere and girls for some
Easter Holidays : library got fixed times from 8-9pm throughout april #flappy #gameover
My favorite place to sit: the computer cluster on 4th floor.
If you need a Ron Swanson-like level of silence to do your work, try the silent areas on level 4! =D
On Wednesdays 2pm-3pm Robinson Library Staff will be in the Learning Resource Centre at INTO for any library queries you may have.
There are a lot of study areas but few computers available. Especially at night, during exam period.
Cheapest half litre of soda that I've found on campus so far is in the vending machines in the cafe: £1.20.
The cafe is open 24H n the shop is open untill 10pm. Let have a break.
£1 coffee from the machine!
