Visit the ice rink before Thanksgiving and Christmas to avoid the crowds. On Thanksgiving go between 9am and noon or expect a one- to two-hour wait.

Go to Midtown at 7am to see The Today Show being taped or get there early, claim your space in the southeast corner behind the anchorʼs desk, and get taped to be on live TV yourself.

Barbie is a huge fan of the holidays, so of course we made a trip to see the tree and go ice skating. We held hands the entire night, even when we slipped on the ice and fell!

Christmas Tree there is always a magical New York experience. But the crowds during that time are insane! We crossed to the other side of Fifth Ave in order to see it away from the huge crowd.
