I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some fresh shrimp. Amazing Garlic butter shrimp! Shrimps were fresh and juicy and the rice portions was big.
Any of the shrimp options are great. Don't forget to suck on the heads for great creamy flavor!
You have to try the one pound steamed prawns
Not fast food, but definitely worth the wait, esp the garlic shrimp. And I'm not sure why folks gripe about having to peel the shrimp: much juicier and more delicious that way. Work a bit, folks!
Garlic butter shrimp
Came here for the prawns but they were out. Their garlic butter shrimp was nowhere near comparable to mackys or even giovannis. Found a cooked pincher bug in our food.. they offered me a refund
What's more to say! Spicy garlic shrimp. Grab a napkin.
Allot some extra time for the long wait time (40+ min). Plan ahead if you're on a schedule while traveling.
Everything. It's a long wait and sticky tables but it's worth the wait if you want good shrimp.
Excellent service. Ahi is delicious.
Garlic shrimp with spicy soy sauce is my usual
Takes forever to get your food.
The locals say this shrimp is the best and it's not imported.
Be prepared for a wait if it is during peak lunch time. 2 orders for us were at 40 minutes. Got one shrimp and one prawn. Prawn is hard to take the shell off.
Come early for the garlic prawn. You snooze you lose.
Off the highway, expect a little wait. The garlic shrimp are tasty (skin on), the crispy shrimp are great (no skin)! The salad is just tons if dressing w/a splash of greens.
난 맛없고 비린내와 화학맛이 났는데.. 사람들 평가는 꽤 좋네... =,.=;;;
Ask them how long the wait is before you get in line! Waited 20mins to be told 1.5hrs. Not cool. No signs no warnings.
2 THINGS TO KNOW: 1) CASH ONLY!, 2) PRAWNS!
They are 1 of only 2 businesses on the North Shore who farm and harvest their own shrimp and prawns. Others purchase it frozen from elsewhere (as far away as SE Asia).
Garlic rice was awesome!
Cash only. .....
This roadside shack always serves fresh shrimp — served fried, steamed or sauteed. A great place to bring the kids.
Steamed shrimp with garlic.
My fav preparation style is the butter garlic - Lotsa garlic! Lotsa parking, nice clean tables, lotsa trash bins, & sink to wash hands. One porta potty non-flushing lavatory. Good idea to bring wipes.
If you want prawns, you have to come at 10 am when they open. They told me that they sell out within the first hour.
Get here early for the sunfish! It disappears around 3:00pm
Better than Giovanni's but be prepared to wait.
Hands down the best of the shrimp trucks stops. Less lines and awesome prawns, shrimp and chilled pineapple cubes.
No Kamaaina discounts :(
Kahuku Shrimp in garlic and butter is heavenly!
OMG! A must on my next trip.
Try the sun fish as well! Real bomb!
If you go for prawns, be prepared to peel a lot, and be covered in oil. I did not enjoy that party
Don't be in too much of a rush. Great food!
Shrimp is awesome here, just be prepared to wait.
This place is horrible. Don't waste your time and money here. Waited for 40+min and got only overcooked shrimps.
I think the haters are from Fumi's up the street....Romy's was fantastic, there was no line at all and we waited about ten minutes for our three different dishes....the garlic butter shrimp = awesome!
Never mind the haters. Best shrimp recipe on the island!
Best on the island!!!
You have to peel the shrimp so peel everything first then wash your hands~ makes eating less of a hassle and cleaner too~!
Gross. Skip this one. Go to Fumis. Dirty dirty shrimp at this ones.
Your Hawaii trip is not complete unless you ate here!
Okay, the shrimp were totally worth the wait. Garlic Butter & Sweet Spicy sauces are amazing.
Long line (15 mins), followed by a long wait (30-45 mins), and to top it off... NO PRAWNS. They should rename this place to "Romy's Shrimp & more Shrimp & Flies & Long Ass Lines."
Try the local, well-known spicy garlic shrimp in North Shore.
Call ahead...this line sucks...
I picked shrimp.. I can't bare to look in the prawn's big black eyes!
