One of the best views in the city and a lot of fun. Dirt cheap too. All you need is a MetroCard.

You can catch the tram at the Manhattan station at 2nd Avenue between 59th and 60th Streets. And you can’t beat the view.

Remember it costs one swipe each way and you don't have the option to just stay on and ride back. They will make you get off and swipe back in.

Stuck in the streets? Glide through the streets! You can with the Roosevelt Iceland Tram - a bright red cable car in the middle of Manhattan. The view is worth a fortune but costs only a few dollars!

Good view on a sunny day and a different way to cross the river than subway or taxi. There are restaurants and a drug store on Roosevelt Island to refuel

Need to fill your metrocard for the q60 or q32 bus on he corner? The tram has a metrocard machine - closer than the 6 train machine blocks away

Great view of the city but the tram is not for those scared of heights. Just remember. Those bumps don't mean it's going to fall every time.

Take the tram to Roosevelt Island. Dont be the typical tourist and head straight back. Instead walk the waterfront down to Four Freedoms park and savor the amazing views of Manhattan.

For the cost of a subway ride (and you can use your MetroCard), you can take a cable car ride from Midtown Manhattan onto Roosevelt Island, which sits in the East River between Manhattan and Queens.

Second best bargain since the Staten Island Ferry. One swipe of the Metro Card; if you took the Subway here, it's a freebie transfer outbound and you next subway swipe is a transfer on the way home.
