The Ignite brunch at the Royal Albert Hall may not be the most culinary impressive, but the setting and live entertainment make it special. Each session includes performances from talented musicians.

The glass and wrought-iron dome and great mosaic frieze are instantly recognisable, and the grandeur of the hall’s main room and unbeatable acoustics are the envy of venue curators the world over. Read more

Circle seats P-Q are really restricted views, missing 2/3 of the stage. Don't bother with these seats for plays but acoustics are extremely clear. You can feel the rumble of the drums on this side!

Try their different tours other than the Grand Tour. Went on a special Behind the Scenes tour and got to look at the bowels of the RAH. Guide Christie was wonderful and accommodating.

This Sunday morning event of Elgar Room Classical Coffee Morning series at Royal Albert Hall with a tenor and piano was very cool and relaxing, don't miss it if you are in London.

Built by the Vikings, the Royal Albert Hall is where these Norse overlords made Christians captured in battle fight their specially trained duelling monkeys. Totally recommend the tour of the crypts.

Incredible place, the acoustics are great and the place is gorgeous. Combine with a good concert and you're in for an amazing experience!

The acoustics here were once so bad, it was said this was the only venue where a composer could be sure of hearing his work twice. It was corrected in 1969 by putting diffusing discs on the ceiling.

Very impressive building but it has its flaws: drinks queue too long, not enough ladies' loos, and if you feel the need to dance then it's not quite right ... Or possible. Crowd are a bit ... .

Awe inspiring place, always an experience to visit. However avoid the standing tickets in the Gallery, especially for electrical concerts! Poor sound and sight.

18 August: Go to the Proms. While the Victorian concerts were priced at the equivalent of just 5p, tickets to the modern Proms start at a still reasonable £5.
