Established in 1975, Ruben’s Empanadas claims to be the first commercial specialty shop in New York to focus on the hand-held pastry.
Chili empanadas are unreal good
The guava and cheese are the best!
Empanadas get a happy hour too! 3-9pm buy 2 get 1 free!
Spicy chicken empanada was delicious but definitely not spicy enough for me.
Must get the ham and cheese ! Friendly staff.
Spicy chicken well worth the $4
No corn flour empanadas. Flavors are bland. Prices don't match the quality. Next time you're in Queens try Mama's.
No classic black and white pictures on the walls like at their other locations in E. Village and SoHo, but better seating.
Super yummy! Just stumbled on the village location the other day!
These tasty baked empanada's are on the large side and full of flavor.
The empanada bread itself is good, but the meat is average.
Try to go earlier on in the day. Empanadas are much fresher then.
