With Ruxbin, our goal is to create food that goes back to the etymology of what a restaurant is meant to embody. res·tau·rant \ˈres-t(ə-)ränt also -t(ə-)rənt, -tərn Etymology: French, from present participle of restaurer to restore
Beautiful interior and consistently some of the best food in the entire city.
A deliciously creative BYOB restaurant worth the wait. Everything we had off the menu was prepared perfectly and led us to sharing it all. Make a reservation or come during off hours for a great meal
A very hip and vintage place. Came here for a bday and wasn't disappointed. Server was extra friendly and the food was great. I loved the atmosphere.
Risotto, lamb, steak - all the dishes where so good.
Rabbit and hanger steak were incredible. Fresh ingredients combined with creativity make for an awesome experience.
Asian, keller alumni, byob
Absolutely incredible food. Every dish was delicious and well-balanced. The tart dessert on a wooden board was surprising and definitely the star of the night.
aMAZING!!!!!!!! A gem in this city I'd drive hours just to eat here again
Don't be confused, they do take reservations!
Scallops with carnitas were delicious. Cauliflower étouffée was a great veggie option
Try the Black Cod
Try the octopus, you can't go wrong!
Watching this on Check Please. Before the broadcast they were over loaded with customers... Now I can only suspect it will be completely impossible to get in.
If you need a bottle of wine call the Noble Grape, they'll deliver!
Hands down one of the absolute best byob places to eat in Chicago! Do yourself a favor and go on a week night though...the wait can be a bit long on the weekends...
go to the bathroom!!
Octopus 5/5. Pork chops 3.75/5 beer sorbet with chocolate donuts 4/5. Berry pastry cake 4.25/5
Do go 30 min before doors open! Zucchini blossoms to smile over, had duck breast and small slices of zucchini bread with beurre rouge. Byob..tho not having wine made the meal even fuller in flavor
Best pork that ever touched this tongue. To die for.
The menu changes seasonally but whatever inspired creation chef Edward Kim sets his mind to he executes with precision and grace. The BYOB policy and warm-but-cooky room make it an all-time favorite.
Order a bowl of cream of wheat. Thanks to lamb drippings and brown butter, the simplest dish here becomes simply astonishing. For more local tips, follow us on 4sq or check out www.renhotels.com.
Don't be scared of the bathroom. It's totally legit and you also feel like you're in Clue!
Get the beef brocolly. ... Its insanely good! !!!
Kudos, for one of the coolest bathroom doors in the City of Chicago. It's like entering a spaceship.
Definitely check out the bathroom. So fun! As far as food goes, the mushroom toasts are a heavenly app. Entrees: go with the pork shoulder and hanger steak.
Try the calamari from our 100 Best list: Put this calamari stuffed with chicken and pork forcemeat and flavored with Korean chilies and peanuts squarely in that camp.
Get the calamari, oyster mushrooms, sable fish. And byob your wine. Or have wine delivered from down the street.
You can't go wrong with anything here! My fave dish was the calamari -- it's grilled, served with some potatoes and greens, and is super yummy and bold. Also, it's BYOB, so bring a bottle of wine!
I wish it wasn't named Best Restaurant so we could have our Korean go to back
I've heard the bathroom is cool. Haven't been yet.
Skipping the kimchi taco route that's so popular elsewhere, Kim takes a chance (and succeeds) with dishes like a clever spin on the clambake, Korean chili and calamari stuffed with chicken and pork.
The salads, flatbread and fries are good to start. Liked the pork entree, but skip the soba. Byob.
Amazing food, try the hanger steak. Amazing.
Summer menu- pork with the grilled peaches was ridiculously yummy, wanted to slurp up what remained on my plate. Wasn't too crazy about the flatbread, too sweet for me. Adorable ambiance, loved it.
Croque monsieur is tops avoid the garlic fries and get the trout or chicken,
amazing. plus. time machine for a bathroom...
Calamari bokkum! Hanger steak!
Checkout the bathroom.
Badass posters and entrance
With great restroom concert posters ranging from Neil Diamond to the Donnas.
screw the waffles (which are great, btw) get the short rib! the most amazing short rib I've ever had....and get the bread pudding to finish. amazing! (and I'm still sitting at the table as I type)
Cute American bistro with the most sinful house-cut French fries with chipotle aioli.
Intimate & Hip, service and food are outstanding and well priced...one of my Chicago favs.
The food and service was great. If you plan to come here with more than 4 people don't. Would take forever for a table. Empanadas are good, so was the tofu and mojo chicken. The waiting area is small.
