The real gem! One of the few top notch bars in SF, absolutely worth visiting
super dark, hip space, tasty cocktails!
Ask Araya to make you one of her meticulously crafted cocktails - she won't disappoint :)
Get a basil gimlet then get some 'fresh air' in the cage
Awesome whiskey based drinks
Best old-fashioned I've had. Ask for a recommendation from the bartender.
Merchant mule was really good. Refreshing, cold.
Best place to catch up with a friend. Get the Pimms Cup #5
Worth the long walk through the Tenderloin to get there from BART
Group-friendly and good cocktails. Try the lambada if you like spicy drinks.
Whether it's the nightly special or telling the bartender what you like, you'll get yourself a glass full of delicious craft cocktail.
Great cocktails. Recommend their merchant mule and version of old fashioned. Bring a friend or two, it's nice to hang out here.
Good cocktails. Quiet in the early evening.
They serve a damn fine old fashioned.
The bourbon-based Dark 'n Stormy is delicious
Not a bad joint if you don't mind spending big $$ for small drinks.
I'll probably never order anything but the Merchant(Moscow) Mule here, it's that good.
Great for unique bourbon and rye and the bartenders are very knowledgeable
Cocktail bar that focuses on whiskey. Solid old fashions. Grear for people watching.
Classy space but a bit too dark for my tastes. I would recommend the Commonwealth.
Bespoke, hipster cocktails for the win.
old fashion cure all
There is a bouncer there who is an ass. Truly is a complete jerk and my experience was so bad that despite the good cocktails and atmosphere, i will never go back there again! EVER! but thats just me.
Old Fashioned or Basil Gimlets.
Great Old Fashioned
“Sadness in your heart is an inhibitor of success. Avoid the prolonged grief, take heart, and take your chance as soon as possible.”
A good cocktail bar in a somewhat seedy area. Kind of emblematic of its neighborhood (the "Tender-Nob").
Find Amanda and ask for a Merchant Mullet. You'll love it!
The smell and the taste of basil gimlets!
Pimm's #5, friendly staff
It's all about Araya, Jules, and Aidan. The best!
Basil gimlet all the way. On a busy weekend night, prepare to stand and maneuver your way to the bar...slowly
For your cocktail and whiskey needs if you're downtown. Walkable, but if the TL weirds you out just take a cab here.
Basil gimlet. Just do it.
Pray that Margarette is working. She is an absolute blast.
Fancy drinks in a shit part of town. Right nearby is another bar I can't remember the name of that is super cool.
Best bartenders in the city. They are seriously talented and make incredibly unique drinks. The basil gimlet is perfection.
Utter bunch of bollocks. Cocktails: bland, watery. Pool table waaaay off and jams all the time. *flushing sound*
Great, balanced cocktails and a comfortable space, even when it's busy.
Ask for Jules. Then ask her to make you something off-menu. She's awesome.
If you want an amazing cocktail without a bunch of unnecessary speakeasy snobbery, go to Rye. Good prices and friendly service. Note they have ZERO food so make sure you eat before.
Merchant mule = medieval cup
Cucumber and basil gimlets.
Nice bar, bartenders are awesome try any of their cocktails I'd recommend them all
Free bar snacks! Ideal.
Bartender lit my Manhattan on fire! But, seriously, Basil Gimlet. Do it. Tip well. Handcrafted cocktails are worth the extra few minute wait.
Good drinks, very good at whipping up something custom if you ask.
The godfather of the market-fresh cocktail movement in San Francisco, situated in an unexpected nook of the TenderNob, with a pool table, a smoking patio and some flattering soft lighting, to boot.
Try the cucumber gimlet
