I love this izakaya. Just when you thought there was no cool place to eat in this 'hood. Go downstairs, grab a table in the nook or the bar (only two spots I like) and try everything on the menu
Great izakaya. No reservations. Always long waits. Incredibly fun. Order mercilessly and carelessly.
Tucked away in Times Square is this often crowded Japanese spot. You won't find sushi on the menu here but don't fret - the wasabi octopus will leave you wanting more!

Sake Bar Hagi is an underground izakaya gem near Times Square with a wide selection of Japanese pub-style grub to go with your sake.
Ask the waitress for recommendations on sake and she might bring you a flight. The fried gizzards and pork belly skewers are superb.

Love this place! Always a wait, but don't be deterred. I recommend: hokke (smoked mackerel), bacon wrapped enoki, and fried squid, but everything good. Cheap draft beer (Kirin and Sapporo) too!
I'll die happy when I've consummed every bloody thing on this shiney-shiney menu. I may also go into cardiac arrest. Think "soul food" but from the Japs. Izakaya, get it!
Try yellowtail collar here. They don't always have it but when they do you won't regret it.

Nice little authentic Sake bar for after work. Try the yellowtail collar and the pork belly. They open the doors at 5:30pm (on the dot).
The Kimchi udon is the bomb also the Tofu in broth mouth watering.
Green tea mochi is amazeballz
Wasabi shu mai! Tingles the brain. Yum! And don't forget nigori!
Ladies, try the hou hou shu sparkling sake! It's bubbly, sweet and delicious!

There are 3 venues w/ "152" listed as the address, so look 4 the blk awning with "Iroha" on it, enter the restaurant & go downstairs for Sake Bar Hagi. Open L8 & very affordable! Usually a line tho.

Very hard to find. Hole in the wall place down in the basement. Food was cheap and good. Place smelled like bleach. Bad customer service.

Don't go to Times Square for it, but don't leave Times Square without it. Killer wasabi shumai, gyoza, and fried soft shelled shrimp and dec sake menu to wash it down.
Try the ponzu karaague. It's the best one I've ever had.
