Salt Lake City's International Airport. Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, United and US Airways fly 20 million passengers yearly.
Gluten-free vegetarians: Check our Cat Cora's Kitchen in Terminal B. They will substitute corn tortillas upon request. My dinner (see picture) was the best GF airport Meal I've had in ages!
Very nice Airport! Lots of great views of the mountains, Downtown SLC, airplanes, & of course the Great Salt Lake (while flying in). Great restaurants, and souvenirs shops.
If you're going to be there a while and want to get some work done, the food court next to the terminal 1 security screening area is a great place. Lots of outlets, good seating and a strong wifi.
Great airport. Not at all frustrating to get around. There are sitting areas and tables everywhere and in between gates. It makes it being in an airport relaxing, and a human experience. Very pleasant
If your looking for a great place to stay, Shiloh Inn is great. Modern, clean rooms, 24 hour pool, and sauna and the staff is amazing. Really cheap Ashely and right in the middle of down town.
One of, if not the best "major" city airports. 10 minutes from downtown. Fast & efficient security lines. Short-term parking at terminal & even long-term only 5 minutes by bus. And everyone's friendly
After traveling thru most major cities around the country, SLC airport is by far the best to deal with. Easy access to terminals and car return, and friendly TSA. Always a pleasure to travel here!
SLC maps I found on the Net in flight gave an overly complicated picture so I wondered (WHAT..!?) but this is one airport where signs were easy to follow & food & bathrooms were handy along the way.
Clean, always on time and now they even have a Squatters brew pub! Undergoing some construction (just like everything else in Utah) but they're doing the construction work at night. So not too bad.
This airport has really stepped up their food game. The C terminal has Salt Lake Pizza and Pinkberry! Plus Cafe Rio is right around the corner and they serve breakfast burritos for the early flights!
Nolan Bushnell is my favorite person from Utah. He founded both Atari + Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza-Time Theaters. By 1982, Atari had $2B in sales and was fastest growing company. In 1984, it crashed.
One of the few airports where I can say thank god I have TSA Pre Check! Lines are always long and suggest you sign up for TSA if you frequent this airport to save yourself time and aggravation
This is a fantastic airport - on site rental car pick up makes for quick departure and return. Market Street Grill is always good if you have time, otherwise check out Smashburger
The TSA prechecked lane is by far the fastest way to go. You don't need to take electronics out of your bag or take your shoes off. The catch is that you need to be pre-qualified.
Salt Lake City won't cause you to reset your personal wifi connection like airports such as BWI or LAS do. Usually as soon as we get off the plane or near the airport I would have to reset. Not here!
The backscatter X-ray machines are NOT obligatory, and may be harmful to your health. Opt out, people! I saw many, many people volunteering to go through these without being having been selected.
Squatters! Giving me a positive view of Utah... From the airport. Local stuff, sustainable ingredients, comfortable atmosphere. Get the local beer in bottles for the full experience.
the wall street deli in terminal c is surprisingly really good. they actually make the sandwiches to order. ingredients are fresh & service is very friendly. breakfast wrap is delicious!!!
Granatos deli in terminal 1 has the most delicious minestrone soup. For when you need something more than a cold sandwich. It's worth to stop by if you have time to spare!
Squatters pub is a great stop, lots of food options including breakfast. They have a great beer selection. Keep in mind they dont start serving food and beer till 8am.
If you’re unable to select the middle seat when booking your flight, do not book that flight. The flight is most likely oversold which could make for an unwanted adventure when take-off time comes.
Wifi in the terminal is not equipped for the amount of people using the free service. If you are looking for speedy connection your best bet is to bring yourown or use the club connection.
If you want a good (tasty) breakfast or snack, stop by the Krispy Kreme on the way to b gates and pick up a sour cream glazed. It may just become your new favorite donut!
Excellent, easy to navigate hub (DL) that is rarely, if ever, weather delayed. I've noticed several excellent new shops and eateries, especially on/near concourse D.
If you're flying on Delta domestically, avoid going through security at Terminal 2 (international + domestic flights) where you'll run into long lines. Do yourself a favor and walk over to Terminal 1.
Better than you think it's well laid out. The breweries are pretty good, smash burger is your budget joint and it's not bad, just causes some rough landings sometimes.
No matter what airline your fly, make sure you're at the gate 45 minutes to an hour prior to departure. Doors close 10 minutes prior to departure. Airplanes don't wait for you, YOU wait for airplanes.
If you are checking in for the flight at night, around 10 or 11pm, there is no rush. you can go through security straight to the gate within 15 min. Plan accordingly.
To get into the mall (one of the best I have ever seen) go out the front door of the hotel and turn right. Go in the first store on the right Nordstrom's.
If you have a bit of time - Head to Cat Cora's kitchen in Terminal B! This celebrity chef provides an awesome selection on non traditional airport food!
Tip for parents with a layover: now that all three play areas are gone, hang out in the secluded niche at the top of terminal D instead. It's to the right of CatCora's. quiet, bathrooms near.
Great airport renovation...clean with some good dining options! Pick up a bottle of wine at Catcora's and enjoy with a beautiful view of the mountains.
FYI, they have filtered water filling stations, so save your money if you have a reusable water bottle. Even not, bottled water is relatively cheap (compared to other airports).
I think the sidewalk things are getting faster. Our I'm getting slow. Either way...fun! Everything flies well here. A lot of massage stations now. Cool. Nice airport.
If you're injured and have a cast/boot/etc, plan for a few extra mins at security. And remember to be nice to the guards; they're just doing their job!
If you are a frequent flyer of Delta then make sure you sign up for the delta rewards and then sign up for the TSA pre check... Pre check is almost as good as the first class line...
New App "b4 you board" le'ts you buy food at any of the restaurants before getting to the airport. You can pick it up later or they can deliver it to your gate.
For a quiet place to unwind between flys, for a drink or snack or meal, go to The Terrace Restaurant 1 floor up above the main concouse by B gates.
There is nothing "express" about the Express Shuttle except the lies about it being here in just a few minutes. Ask for a refund if you wait too long and grab a cab.
Terminal B has an amazing organic cafe with vegan food. They even carry Kombucha! Highly recommend the chicken breast and goat cheese sandwich. Amazing.
You really ought to check out my album The Death of Adam which features Kanye West, KiD CuDi, Redman, Bilal, Shitake Monkey, J*DaVeY & Phonte of Little Brother. iTunes or Best Buy.
If you have bags to check, be here at the very latest one hour before departure. Most airlines cut off bag checks fourty five minutes to an hour before departure.
I great hub when flying to the PAC northwest and the Delta Sky Club is pretty decent there. I wish the moving walk ways were just a bit faster though.
Internet is decent in the sitting areas between the Terminal 1 and 2. The wifi signal is strong here (full bars).
Take the time to get your shoes shined. Simple pleasure and can't find it done very often anymore. They do an excellent job too. Near C gates entrance.
Need coffee? Not much of a coffee airport so look for the Starbucks in the main terminal just before exiting the secure area. If you miss that, there is a Millcreek at the entrance to terminal D
Visit Squatters Pub in terminal A if you're looking for a good beer selection. And definitely try the Hop Rising if you're a fan of IPA's.
Here is a thought SLC...If your airport is open it might be nice to have some stores open. Beware early flights out of here are lonely...especially with no coffee.
They actually have smoking rooms on each concourse, just like Europe and Asia. How delightfully non facist! Good food options, easy to navigate.
If you arrive before 10am anybody on any flight can go through the security check in at the international terminal. There are never lines and the employees are very friendly.
