The San Antonio Zoo opened in 1914!
When I go I love to eat a popsicle or popcorn and feed the ducks! It's always nice to feed
take some snacks with you, the walking is exhausting.
Buy a souvenir cup and get cheap refills
Love this place!
You will have a great three hours seeing active animals moving around except the Lion! Also, check out the train outside the zoo if you have kids. It is worth spending $3.50 for the train .
Was nice, clean, people we're friendly and the exhibits were great!
Members evening at the zoo - much of the zoo is closed by 8, no food or other vending. Long lines for carousel and other special events. Not worth the trip.
Great place to bring your kids and spend the afternoon
Tot spot is an awesome, cool down spot with restrooms and a nursing room!
They have really made it nice. The carousel is awesome looking!!!
This 100 year old Zoo is amazing. Don't miss the Butterfly exhibit when it is in season.

Nice so far
Very accessible with a clear route to visit all the parts of the park. No crowds early during the week. Typical fast food offerings in the new restaurant. Free parking!
Must bring your little ones, bring lots of water tho, it's super long!! 😁🙊🐴🐘🐯
Amazing place 😍
Its a Zoo. If you like animals and long walks its great. They have many places to eat that will gladly rip you off and give you school cafe food. Bonus tip bring your own lunch they allow it.
Go early while it is still cool. Africa Live is a must see.
No lions i wanted to see lions
Membership was definitely worth it.
Was broken hearted there were no giraffes or camels or sea lions or polar bears or jaguars. This zoo definitely needs lots of improvement.
I know some of the vending machines are expensive, but, keep in mind that all proceeds go to support the zoo. :)
Best to come as soon as it opens.. More animals are out due to less heat. Bring your own bottles of water! :-)
Seriously? 7 handicapped spots? Way to serve your Veterans.
Drink lots of water!!
Plan to visit the Butterfly Exhibit late on the day, between 5 and 6. It is less crowded and the butterflies are less timid!
As expected, the shows get packed! Make sure to get there fifteen minutes in advance.
An amazing place to spend the day. My grandson is 17 months old he could watch the monkeys play all day. There's nothing better than listening to him laugh.
It wuz awesome!!!!
Don't go on a weekend, parking is horrible
This is a nice place 2 go 2 & see the monkeys in San Antonio.
In the back by the prairie dog area Is a nice place for lunch.
No giraffes :(
Always go early, majority of the animals get more active right before lunch.
Buy the Zoo membership, it's totally worth every visit!!
The zoo is awesome this time of the year by season passes you'll save a fortune!!!
Check out the Goodfellow Tree Kangaroo. He is awesome. I mean who has ever seen a kangaroo in a tree.
Save your money. Animal Prisons = ZOOS. This one needs some keeping up!
sit and feed the ducks by the PEARL BREWERY ENTRANCE OF THE river, for a peaceful lunch, or just to have fun with your loved ones...
Check out the grizzly, he likes attention ;)
The San Antonio Zoo is ranked as one of the best zoos in the nation exhibiting over 3,500 animals of 600 species.
Be sure to catch the hippos' feeding time! They are most active just before and you can watch them get up out of the water. Feeding time is around 445PM
Great place to take the family. :-)
Buy the zoo membership. You get discounts on food and souvenirs, plus the animals could use your support and funding.
Loved watching the hippos under water...So many cool fish...
Weekday mornings are the best. Only you and a couple school groups.
Great Zoo! A must see in SA!!
