The women's restroom is spacious. I could open the stall door, wearing a backpack, and spin completely around, touching nothing, to shut the door. Fantastic! And, Clean.

Avoid renting a car if you can! Take an uber to Palo Alto/ SF and rent there if needed, or risk adding an extra hour to your departure time to return!

Security checkpoint process is one of the worst in the world. Lines are usually 1-3 hours long. Exact opposite of New York style speed. Terminal 3 is usually the worst.

If you have an extended wait, the express spa is awesome. Get a service and linger in the massage chairs. Pricey but good.

If u fly out on Monday mornings in terminal 1, allow an extra 30 min for security! It's always packed. If u r a priority flyer, use the lane to the right! TSA at SFO is notoriously slow.

SFO security sucks. Way too long. New York security at EWR and LGA can run circles around these idiots.

Bring a pilot's uniform from your local costume shop. You'll have no trouble bluffing your way into the secret pilot's lounge. Be sure to ask the other pilots what hardware they're flying on!

Avoid United if possible for now. Many flights take off now from their temporary gates at term 1 and the have to run dinky, crowded shuttles between terms 1 and 3. Adds 20 min so plan accordingly.
