Awesome location in the downtown of San Francisco, near Market Street, Union Square & the Moscone Center. Choose a corner room with the great view. Try the rooftop "The View Lounge" (39th floor).

Concierge lounge serves a great breakfast. If you are not gold or platinum status ask for access - worth the extra money for the selection and convenience. You can stock up on water and soda too.

Valet parking: 1 hr is $21.25. Also, let them know if you want to charge your Tesla. We had a hiccup and it didn't charge, but they were gracious enough to give us a free hour more.
    Camellia Schinner · December 31, 2015

I've stayed at this hotel many times,, usually very good.. t his time my room on 17th floor (1754) was too close to the elevators.. was hard to sleep with the constant noise of the elevator

It's an amazing hotel! However the WiFi is really expensive so unless you are going on a business trip with business paying Internet fees you better get a huge data plan for hotspot.
    Mohamed Rizk · June 22, 2013
  • Jules B.
The View bar is great, but is a publicly accessible bar. The hotel itself has gone downhill massively. Stayed there 3 times now, it's so busy now that the staff are rude, condescending & arrogant.
    Jules Belcher · October 16, 2014
  • Jamie C.
Breakfast buffet is worth every dollar, spectacular. Food in the penthouse bar is terrible, overpriced for the poor flavor combinations. View makes up for it. Stick to drinks. Room 2525 view is A+!
    Jamie Chase · March 7, 2015

To save money, you can eat at Mel's Drive In Diner at corner, Starbucks down 4th St is cheaper than hotel, stores, pharmacy and other less expensive shopping options are very nearby.
    Ronald Agrella · March 29, 2011
  • Tommy H.
Room was gorgeous. Great location. A+Skip hotel breakfast $25 for nothing special, go to local legend Mels Drive in less than a block away. Awesome food, cheap!

Great hotel right in the middle of everything. Awesome gym and amazing views/drinks on the 39th floor. Highly recommend. Ask me about it on Twitter - @Greenbaumer

Will never stay here again after how we were treated by the staff at check in and valet. Avoid Bin 55 as well. Food tastes like a frozen TV dinner at fine dining prices. Never. Again.
    Acacia Waller · July 23, 2013
  • Susan S.
Unless you're on a VC-flush-with-cash expense account, avoid theVIEWlounge on the 39th floor. A couple friends, wine, cheese platter: $130.00 ouch. Awesome view though.
    Susan Scrupski · November 5, 2009

WiFi is free if are a Marriott or Ritz Carlton Rewards Member. Just make sure they know when you check in. The charge won't show up on your bill even though you are "charged" when first logging in.

Great but expensive hotel located in the heart of San Francisco. It's OK wheter you aren't paying the bill, otherwise, there are better and cheaper options in the neighborhood.

The view from the presidential suite is amazing! Suite 3230 was comfortable and very well worth the price.

IMHO-This is the no-brainer 1st choice Marriot if you're staying in the Financial District of San Francisco. The View on the 39th fl is a must!

Why is it, the more a hotel costs, the less you get? No free wifi, no free breakfast, hard beds and mediocre a/c. Why of why does my husband insist on places like this?
    Tiffany · August 24, 2013
  • Christopher W.
Definitely checkout the rooftop bar. It's amazing. The windows are out of this world, offering a spectacular view of the city. Don't miss it.

Get a room AWAY from the elevators unless you like hearing them running by all day & night. Sounds like the never ending roller coasters next to us.

You'll have to pay for drinks at the concierge lounge, so just go up to the View Lounge on the 39th floor instead.

The bar on the top floor has good views. But i'd still recommend the bar at the top of the mark. The Mark Hopkins.

Don't touch the food or drinks in the room. $8 for water, $7 for M&M's, and $5 for a soda. DON'T TOUCH!
