People tend to check in during these times:
Happy Halloween everyone!
The "leaving in X minutes" sign in the ticket and gate area is meaningless. I've seen it say 3 minutes as the train is departing the station.
Always use the stairs, it is faster!
Be polite and move your crap off the seat next to you so other people can sit down. Don't wait for people to ask you to do so.
Weekends are brutal. So ensure you put in a lot of buffer time if you're running the Red Line. You'll need it.
Why is the metro wasting money on floors that dont need to be fixed? They should spend their money on creating a second exit. Idiots.
ICC bus stop (201 to BWI) is opposite of the regular bus stops closer to the garage (east side of station coming from 370).
Don't use a paper ticket, farea cost more with it. Also don't forget to have at least $5 for parking left on card to get out. (Don't be the ass that backs up at the exit)
Public trolling idea: stand to the left and see if you can make it to the top without getting yelled at. :)
Great way to avoid parking nightmares in DC! Too bad they don't have service up to Frederick!
Single tracking = delays. Expect it pretty much every weekend.
Single tracking trains leave every twenty minutes so prepare to sit in the station for a long time.
The 201 TO BaltimoreWashington Airport (BWI) is only $5 one way and leaves :11 past ea. hour.
Don't slip on the damn tile cuz you probably will if it rains.
Escalators don't work half the time.
Every train from this station goes downtown... so don't be the one who asks.
Watch out for all those old people that want to get out of the train 1st but are so god damn slow getting down the steps / escalator!!
Best part about this station is its first stop... almost guaranteed a seat
Do not buy an all day pass before 9 30am. It will not work.
When coming back to this station in the evenings during rush hour, try to plan it so you can get off the train right next to the stairs so you can run out and avoid the crowd.
During rush hour, can you please walk down the escalator... Not just stand there?! You make me miss my bus with this line!
You can always get a seat here !
I know it's been shared already, but a gentle reminder wouldn't hurt, right? Folks, PLEASE stand to the RIGHT if you're not going to walk up/down the escalators!
Dont pile your junk in the seat next to you. Be respectful of others who may want to sit down.
WTF is wrong with loading $ on the SmartTrip
Please don't crowd the doorways when boarding :/
Taxi drivers tend to drive in reverse at 3 am. Look out.
The beggar always come sing
Must pay for parking with Metro or Credit Card. No cash.
Check signage above pay stations to know east or west side for your bus.
Add 30 mins to travel time.. Never ending single track every weekend when will it be over
Red line is struggle city. There are always delays, leave lots of time to get into the city.
Hookers come out at night.
Keep your smart trip card away from everything. Other cards, your phone , etc. Otherwise , trying to leave the parking lot is going to suck when it says you have no money.
Have your smart card ready or get ran over.
Need to add money to my smart trip card pretty soon
The mad rush to wait some more
Music or something to do because you'll get bored very easily
Parking is free on weekends and federal holidays. Get here early during the week because the spots fill up very quickly.
The middle cars are always the most crowded. Go toward the ends if you want to sit if Shady Grove is your last stop.
All aboard Fail Rail!
Choose your train car toward the back if this is ur last stop otherwise it will take forever to get off the platform
Park for free overnight, just leave by 10am
If you're coming back from downtown late at night and you think you'll make your bus, you won't, because this line always has issues
Metro sucks these days-avoid it as much as possible
Red line is always struggling, make sure to leave with lots of time to spare!
For the love of God, what ever you do- stand to the right on the escalator if you're not gonna jog up/down like a track star. :-)
Sit down and grab a comfy seat in the right direction. Its probably the only time you'll be able to grab one the whole red line!
Even if you're not listening to music, in-ear headphones do well to block out those early-morning, across-the-train shouting, Metro conversationalist...
