Shake Shack is a modern day "roadside" burger stand serving the most delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, beer, wine and more!
I've had the crinkle fries (w/ & w/o cheese), 'shroom burger, shack burger, shack stack, New York dog, chick 'n' burger, and coffee shake. I've never been disappointed or 'just satisfied.' All amazing
My #1 choice on the menu is the Shack Burger. The meat here tends to be a little on the saltier side compared to other burger joints (i.e. Five Guys), but is fresh and delicious.
Best burger in the city. The meat is so perfectly cooked, never overdone, and oh-so-fresh. Though I prefer the Madison Square location, you can eat inside at this location when the weather is bad.
I take back whatever disparaging remarks I've said about Shake Shack in the past. I just had a plain, medium rare burger. No ketchup, salt or bun. Just pickles. It was superb! Best beef in ages.
The best burger I've tasted ever!!! Also great chocolate shake and fries!! (It was back in 2008, but I suppose they're still freakin' delicious!) The hour-plus wait in line was completely worth it!
It's only a special during certain times, but absolutely try the peanut butter & bacon burger if it's available (ask the staff). A word of warning though, you'll need a lot of napkins for this one!
Don't let yourself be suckered into the In-n-Out vs Shake Shack debate! They are completely different types of burgers, and both are good. I recommend a Shack Burger if it's your first time.
Limited seating upstairs and downstairs (especially during peak hours) so try to avoid coming during lunchtime! Either way, always delicious--Shack Burger with fries = :) and the custard is amazing.
Awesome place and the downstairs is amazing but the downtown is better and it manages space more... this one doesnt have a lot of space when its packed and it usally is packed
Okay for the price but NOT WORTH A LONG WAIT. I repeat: if there's a line out the door, not worth it. There are better burgers in this neighborhood, namely Big Nick's (71st & Columbus) & Five Napkin.
Different location, same great burger. Good place to stop after checking out the Natural History Museum. As always, you've got to get the shack burger, a chocolate shake, and some cheese fries.
Cheese fries are AMAZING! The Smoke Shack burger is great, but I ordered without the cherry peppers (spicy). Caramel shake is good too!
Please be considerate of others and vacate tables when you are done especially if you are two people at one of the 3 tables for 6.
This location always has a line of people waiting outside. I went on a sunday around 4 and there was only a couple people at the restaurant. I suggest not going at normal meal times.
Try not to go around noon, since the place will be packed. Instead, wait a bit and go at an off time. You won't have to wait long and put up with any tourists.
Dr. Memet Oz and the Food Police hate this place; the average burger fan adores it. Convenient location near American Museum of Natural History. Friendly servers.
Burgers look like an In-n-Out copy, but have a (delicious) flavor of their own. Busy, so send your companion to get a table while you place an order for both of you.
Atmosphere is the 1st thing I notice, nice place to have lunch/dinner and chat with friends.Burger, fries and a shake seems to be the favorite combo
Their popular $6.40 shack burger packs a punch. Right across the street from the natural history museum so it's very convenient. So go shack it up.
"With or without the hype and the lines, the frozen custard at Shake Shack is pretty awesome; thick, satisfying, and sweet. Flavors change monthly."
Great after a trip to the American Museum of Natural History. If it's a decent day out, take lunch to one of the benches around Columbus Ave.
GRADUATION GRUB: There's a reason Shake Shack gets all the love it does for its perfect burgers, fries, and shakes. It may not be the classiest meal in town, but it will likely be the most satisfying.
Usually crowded, worth the wait. Especially over the summer. Nice to sit on the benches across the street and chow down on those burgers and fries..yum.
The line is so much faster than Mad Sq Park's! Go for the ShackBurger and don't forget your Cheese Fries! YUMMY! You won't easily forget! :)
For the love of all that is holy, please don't bring your stroller in here. It will clog aisles and drag the carefully orchestrated people-moving capabilities of the facility to a grinding halt.
The fastest service of all the shake shacks imho. The 86th Street one can taked a while, and the line at the madison square park is loooong
Decent burger but comes in second behind in n out burger and more expensive. not worth a long wait. I've been trying to go here for years but there's always a l
Go to this shake shack because the line is MUCH MUCH faster, and your food is ready in a matter of minutes. Not the wait you would experience in madison square park.
Believe the hype. Like most Americans I've had thousands of different burgers and I really think this is the best burger in the states.
Good quality meat, soft bun & the shakes will rock your world. Although you might want to share w/ friends or else die of a food coma.
I absolutely love the Smoke Shack Burger. Get the cheese fries (to go) and they'll put the sauce on the side for dipping!
Can't go wrong with a Shackburger, crinkle fries (THEY'RE BAAAACK!), and a beer! Save room for a shake or custard, obviously.
Crowded, but SO worth it! There is seating down below if you can't find a seat on the main level. The Shack Burger is a MUST!
Go for a ride in the Park. Completely negate any calories you lost by biking to Shake Shack and eating a shroom burger + concrete. After recovering from the feast guilt will settle in. Bike home.
What an excellent burger! Have a (double) shake burger (the more simple), it is so tasteful and juicy ! You won't regret it
My favorite shake shack location. Something feels more fresh and delicious. Good to come by after visiting the natural history museum.
Cult burger chain Shake Shack opened its Upper West Side outpost in 2008, and the lines have been around the block ever since.
The Shroom Burger is the best thing, I've ever eaten: Portobello Mushroom filled with cheese plus fresh lettuce & tomato. Love it.
Don't worry if there's no seats upstairs, there's usually some down in the rec room and plenty of benches across the street, along W 77th st
Great food. Very hard to get a table so split up and one person grab a seat. Or take to go. Be prepared for a line.
The BEST shakes and burgers in the city. The black and white shake is heavenly and you can't go wrong with any of the burgers (even the 'shroom burger!)
Good burgers and shakes but very few tables, figure out your order and then have someone wait for a take while waiting on the food.
Please be considerate and vacate tables when you are done especially if you are two people at one of the 3 tables for 6.
Insanely delicious, never disappoints. Perfectly sized burger, just perfect every time.
Short wait. Close to Central Park and the museum of natural history. Cheese fries.
Burger with shack sauce is my fave- but the fries are not as good as they once were. The concretes are still tops!
