Use only the "OK" taxi. Check carefully that you do not use a brand that only seems like "OK". They are tones of cheaters that can charge you 8-10 times more... "OK" to Sheraton cost about 10 leves.

Don't get too early here. An hour before your flight is more than enough.

Eat drink and shop before going to the airport, I have visited bustarions in rural India with more and better facilities than Bulgarian airports.

Grumpy personnel, overpriced food and drinks, counterfeit cab drivers. Leaving is a lot better than landing.

    Stans · January 19, 2012

Don't use the exchange kiosks - opt for the DSK Bank in the lobby or use an ATM. Exhange rate is over 25% off the normal. Use taxi kiosks only for cheap and safe transfer to the city

Generally a surprisingly compact and efficient airport. However, the domestic departures section has the feel of a bus stop.

Probably the best airport in Sofia. Don't trust the airplanes without a meter on the front! Or if the pilot is wearing pink uniform.

Don't trust the taxi drivers offering you a cab @ arrivals. Make sure you use OK TAXI. To the city center they should not charge u more than 7-8 eur ( 15 bgn)

The legit taxi stand is on the side of the terminal, on your right as you enter the arrivals hall, the big door at the end of the hall.
