Go to Sol Food Puerto Rican Cuisine‎ and order the Pollo Al Horno. No matter what you order, use lots of their spicy vinegar sauce. So yum.

The plates here are good, but the sandwiches are even better. What started as a farmer’s market booth now has 2 locations near each other in San Rafael, the “big place” and the “small place.” - Jeremy

They recently closed the location with the thatched roof and opened two smaller take-out stations – one on 4th street, and one right next door to the main restaurant, "Sol Food Bodega."

If you don't mind the smaller quarters, try their 4th street location right around the block. Skip the long lines and eat in micro authentic Puerto Rican style. Excellent service to boot!

I recommend the chicken plate with sweet plantains and pink beans. Cover it with their sauce and get a 1/2 mango ice tea 1/2 lime aid to wash I down. The sauce calls to me! Get a bottle to go.
