Great place to watch the sunset!
Noticed that somehow map location was changed on this-how? I created this check-in 2 years ago while standing in the parking lot at the Dixie Mtn Loop/Hawks Nest trailhead. Thanks, City of Scottsdale.
Tips here which refer to restrooms, McDowell, and it being in Scottsdale are referring to the McDowell trail some thirty minutes drive east. This trail does NOT have restrooms and is in Phx.
Great displays. Excellent restrooms. Stunning trails!!! Take plenty of water and plan your hike carefully! Enjoy!
Not the BEST hike. Too dry! Better hike at Pinnacle Peak and Squaw Peak and if you can handle Camelback Mtn..go for it, the view is fantastic at the top! Bring WATER for this hike & a camera!
Gods Promise was do cool
Chk out the new trail. Watch out for bicyclists
Cyclists should watch out for my buddy, Hector. He tends to favor the inside of the trail path.

Visit this nature preserve and explore over 14,000 acres of untouched wildflowers and cacti. Try the 4.5-mile Tom Thumb's trail for breathtaking views.
There are reports of snakes, incl aggressive ones, in the northwest segment of this trail. Of course there can be snakes anywhere, but be careful 10 min on either side of the Sonoran Blvd sign. 3/2011
