People tend to check in during these times:
The South Lawn was a favorite spot for President Carter to go jogging.
While in the White House, the Clinton's had two pets a cat named Socks and a dog named Buddy.
The day of Reagan's first inauguration was also the day American hostages in Iran were released. Seven days later on January 27, 1981, the President greeted them on the South Lawn of the White House.
It looks pretty good now, but have you seen the pictures from the 70's when they had summer patch? It was awesome!
Free garden tours on the south lawn!
If you want to have a tour you must submit an application through your embassy 6 months in advance.
Do not leave anything unattended, you will get yelled at
Too bad they are not doing tours anymore as I can't remember I time when they have not. The view from the South lawn is far and you might have a better view from the North lawn.
If you want to take a photo in front of the WH, north side is much better.
