    Southpaw was a Park Slope, Brooklyn, venue that hosted a wide range of bands throughout the 2000s, including Cat Powers and TV on the Radio The venue shut down in 2012 and is now a NY Kids Club.

    Behind it's really rad exterior of awesome hip hop and dj sets there is a little 90's chick flick waiting inside. Perfect, quirky romance (or just bump&grind)

    One of the very few venues in Brooklyn constantly supporting a vast array of established & independent artists. Nice, long bar. Has a classic decor & feel. Sound is always impeccable.

    uh, if you're a "taken" lady on a ladies' night out, do not expect to last on the dancefloor, awesome tho' it is, without being accosted several times. doesn't matter how dowdily you dress.

    If it's time for another drink, go to the downstairs bar which is a lot less crowded. Chill on the couches there for a second then return to the party/show upstairs.
