Good place for buying cheap mementos. Though the "pashmina" shawls should be acknowledged with suspicion.

It can be fun but don't get suckered in by the whole "I'm your friend" bit. Everyone is your friend but no one is your friend. Always negotiate!!!! Enjoy the local foods and drinks

Go with an easygoing attitude and enjoy. Great selection of teas, sweets, spices and incense. Ask for a discount, it's a souk after all! ;-)

The creekside Spice Souq stalls long ago succumbed to tourism, but you can still get a feel for old Arabia at the restored Heritage House and Al Ahmadiya School, with their airy courtyards.

Situated in a nearby alley to the Gold Souk, the row of spice shops is a complete treat for any food lover. The many barrels and bins--open-air and enclosed--were fun to see, smell, and photograph. Read more
