Single-handedly destroyed Thai food for me. I literally will not get it anywhere else but here. Worth the trek AND the wait (although take-out is the best option). - Rich, blogger, blog.vh1.com
Ignore talk of "pilgrimages" & "worth the trip." The best ethnic food is always where immigrant folk actually live. Over 20 yrs old Sri has kept true to its flavors from when it was a hole in the wall
Try the crispy watercress salad with seafood, pork larb, drunken noodles with chicken, sauteed chinese broccoli with crispy pork, green curry with duck and pineapple, and coconut rice.
Iconic Thai restaurant known best for its spicy, multidimensional curries.
The decor may be a bit off-putting at first, but you will only have eyes for the scrumptious food once it arrives. Love heat? Ask for the salads "Thai spicy." Like it mild? Duck noodle soup's for you!
They have a huge outdoor space decked w/plants + w/gurgling fountain all lit up! Get the drunken noodles w/seafood
get the crispy watercress salad. always.
“This is one of the best Thai restaurants. The catfish and green mango salad is spectacular,” says Chef Michael Ginor of this Thai hotspot.
Order whatEVER you want. You won't regret it.
Best Thai food in town! Just remember that it's cash only!
#StaffPick Pema (Education): Love this joint. It’s the most authentic Thai food outside of Bangkok because of the spice level and variety of rarely found desserts.
If all they contributed to society was their incredible massaman curry, it'd be a life well-lived. Lucky for us there's so much more.
Watercress salad, pork honey, crispy pork and anything else.
Ladies bathroom has a diaper changing table, men's doesn't. Sexist!
Pork LARB is soooooo SPICY!!! Get it. Burn your mouth, then laugh about how much fun that was.
Don't go during peak meal times. The food is better and the crowds are sparser during 4pm.
Best thai I ever had. Don't order typically American Thai dishes.Go for the chili-lime stuff. Get a whole fish.
Get the Khao Soy, a delicious coconut curry with hard and soft noodles
Winner of Best Use of Watercress in the Village Voice 2011 Best Of issue! Salad? Deep fry it, please! We love the fried watercress salad.
Soft Shell Crab And Penang Curry :). Cash Only
Possibly the best Thai restaurant in NYC. Prices have doubled since 2004. Always order the fried soft-shell crabs appetizer.
Get some real Thai food.
Best Thai food in NYC. Eat family style here, everything is worth trying!
Extra spicy Drunken noodle is amazing. Save room for dessert: coconut ice cream and sticky rice with mango are to die for.
GREAT foodddd! Believe all the hype about fried watercress salad and soft shell crab. But it may be a little too heavy of a meal if you order them together.
I'm gonna keep this tip simple & plain -- SriPraPhai is the best Thai food restaurant in NYC. Not ONE of the best. THE BEST. Great portions, great prices, unbelievable flavors. 'Nuff said.
Winner of Best Thai in the Village Voice 2011 Best Of issue! Order the dark version of the beef tendon soup - it will be laced with blood!
Order as many dishes as possible, but make sure the crispy ground catfish is one of them. Try to convince them not to go easy on you with the spiciness.
Best Thai restaurant in NYC. Always start off with some Tom Kha Kai or other soup.
Really don't get the hype with this place. Incredibly over rated.
It's not on the menu, but ask your server for meang kam as an appetizer. It's self-service Thai street food at its best. Leave off the dried shrimp (you make it yourself) to make it vegan.
Crispy.watercress.salad. Stop whatever you're doing and eat this!
Good food :D
I can't get enough of their Drunken Noodle Chicken and Thai Ice Tea! Sriphaphai rules and so does Thailand!
Love the roast duck salad, fried fish with sweet and sour sauce, drunken noodles and (if yer bold), tendon soup with dark sauce. (Dark cause it has blood.)
Galangal soup is a must!
Drunken noodles is a must!
Hands-down THE best Thai food in the NY Metro Area. Beware - "medium spicy" means SPICY there...recommend their crispy watercress salad & Fried snapper w/ Green Mango!
Red Curry, Brown Rice, get it. Better than some of the ones I've had in Thailand.
Very busy for dinner, especially after 7:30pm. Quick and friendly service. They also have 2 fridges of desserts for takeout by the entrance.
Curry noodles -amazing!!!!!Mai Thai-amazing!!! Service and atmosphere- amazing!!!!!!
The watercress salad, chicken & shrimp dumplings, pad thai, panang curry, drunken noodles, and Chinese broccoli with pork belly are delicious. I cannot vouch for anything else.
