The other pass tips are wrong. $3 gets you a day pass good from whenever you first use it until 4a on street cars and buses. They make change in form of voucher for next purchase.

Dont plan on going anywhere fast. Minimum 1.5 hour round trip.
The streetcar is a far cheaper option for getting to the French Quarter than a taxi, and provides a pretty great view of the city. Have your $1.25 ready to go!
A great and affordable way to see the beautiful homes and architecture that New Orleans offers. Take it to the end, then hop right back on and head back to the French Quarter. About 30-40 minutes each
