Experience Stalactites, one of Melbourne's longest established & well known restaurants. Owned and operated by the Konstandakopoulos family since 1978, Stalactites has long become a Melbourne institution and a must for Melbourne diners.
Dolmas!😍 lamb gyro tzatiki
Bit on the expensive side. Rather get a nice kebab
Lamb and steak. Spankopitas (sp?) Fair. Excellent waitstaff. Noisy, fun
Can't got past Stalactites for a souva after a big night out
This place has gone DOWNHILL bad! Crappiest quality food. We ordered x 2 meat platters, drinks & chips $120. There wasn't even enough for 3 people. And, the meat was POOR. Avoid!
$26 for a re-heated moussaka with veggies boiled to death. If you come, stick to the Souvlakis - twice as good at half the price.
The lamb is amazing!
great greek food experience. love the chips and order the platters!
It's dinner now but the turnaround time is much faster after midnight (when the night owls and drunks need a feed)
Enjoyed the dessert platter
Second chance was a big mistake! Awful souvlaki. No care whatsoever, dry tasteless lamb. All cold ingredients lumped to one side and the lamb to the other. Kalamaki, Gazi, Jimmy Grants all far better.
One of the better places to grab a late night snack in the CBD.
Very nice greek restaurant. Try the chicken souvlaki !
The service isn't great, but they have to cope with horrible drunk people so it's expected. Pretty good quality (not fantastic). And it's open 24hrs!!!
Here's a tip. This place is probably only worth visiting if you're drunk. Souvs are average. Fish soup Ok!
Meat Platters & Greek Salad!
Mixed souvlaki: combination of marinated lamb & chicken from the spit, in pita
Amazing feta cheese and gyros....but sadly no wifi
Dip platter YUM!
Cabbage roll was good :) Loved the hommus dipping with pita bread!
Late dinner fir 10 friends! No A/C, so a bit stuffy on a hot night. Service was a little slow, but food was sensational.
Best Souvlaki in Melbourne if not Australia
So. Much. Food.
Better than Turkish kebab fresh meat and lovely workers yummy food
Get mixed giro platter, mixed dips & pita breads to share !
YAY! They reopened! And still have amazing soulvakis!
is it open tonite?
Just terrible. Got the the mousakka and was microwaved which left it with a soggy rubbery texture. The open souvlaki was dry. Overall, over priced and very below average food.
Slow service. Our order was wrong, and when we questioned it the guy only confirmed that it was wrong. A woman reached over our table to put drinks on the next one. Catastrophic. Never going back.
Gyros doesn't even go close to what we know as "Greek gyros" in Greece! There is no place to eat real gyros in Melbourne! Visit Greece to taste the real thing... among others!!! :)
Superb greek food, try the lamb spits. Incredible!
get the eggplant & garlic dip with some hot pita breads to munch... yum! so garlicky & soooooo good!
Had mixed souvlaki..SO GOOD!!
Delicious food, fast service, friendly staff...will definitely be back!!
Seen some bad comments about the 'Asian waiter', however I've never had an issue. He is sussinct but would you be too if you have so many drunk people coming in. Talk to him & he is really nice.
Go with a group and order some mixed sharing plates.
Lamb souvlaki here is the very best lamb souvlaki!!!
A midnight...well...4am yummy Greek Souvlaski + Baklava =) it's a gold for jetlag crew =p
A midnight, well 4am Souvlaski + Baklava =) it's a gold for jetlag crews =p
Best greek in the city! Get the mixed dips, meat platters and dont forget the calamaris!!!!!
Long wait to order...around 20 mins. Do not sit upstairs
Best souvlaki in the city!
Kids vote - best souvlaki ever!
a bit of greece in the pita bread...open 24hrs a day, right in the city center: a perfect place to finish a perfect night!
Great authentic greek food. Service was excellent and the prices reasonable
Don't get the Giro..there was no party in me mouth!!
The best food ever, best meat in melbourne
We just found a hair in the pita bread ewww
Best place to get food 24 hours a day in Melbourne :)
