This was the first Starbucks in Portland. Before Pioneer Square was there, it was a 2-level parking garage, seen here in this 1974 photo, taken from the 2nd floor over Margulis Jewelers.
Check out the Barista Luke, he usually works in the mornings :)
Very much appreciate their choice of music.
BEST PLACE TO PEOPLE WATCH
Try the Portland Coffee Cake with a dark roast.
Better not have to use the restroom after 5 pm they don't have one...
goto public domain or coffee plant (both within three blocks) for better, cheaper, and non-corporate coffee.
The Portland Hotel under construction, 1889. This is the west side of the building. Today Starbucks sits on that left (northwest) corner. The fenced area is now the Nordstrom building's block.
Great place for people watching. Lots of hippies.
This is a nice place 2 go 2 & get a cup of coffee or a cup of hot t.
The parking garage occupied the P. Square site from from 1952 till the late 70s. From 1891 - 1951 the glorious 326-room Portland Hotel stood on the site. (See the B&W photo)
Wonderful and patient staff!
Super nice ppl working, but super slow service.
The drink label maker system doesn't accommodate names; double check the label before you stick your fingers/straw in someone else's drink, please!
