The Staten Island Ferry (a free 25-minute trip) provides spectacular views of Manhattan. You'll pass by (though not stop at) the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

When leaving from Manhattan Island sit on the right hand side of the boat and the left for the return trip if you want to see the Statue of Liberty. You should really see both sides however

You don't need to push or make long lines. The ferry is very big with plenty of space for everyone. In every floor there is space for good photos of the Statue of Liberty.

A free ferry ride to see the extensive NYC harbour, one of the great assets that made this city possible. An excursion to cool off on the water, watch the city lights/skyline and sure Lady Liberty🗽

Great place for a late night date. Both ends are recently renovated w/a 24hr bar that plays music on the Manhattan side & another restaurant on SI side.. Both w/great views. Great for history buffs 2.

A great way to see the Statue of Liberty without the lines. Avoid peak hour and join the line but don't worry, the ferry holds heaps! Get a seat by a window that opens and enjoy the ride.

Its a pretty comfortable ferry and taking it after a good walk across NY helps you relax. You get to see the NY skyline and also the statue of liberty from the side decks of this ferry.

For a free cruise to see the Statue of Liberty and unique views of the New-York City skyline, hop on the Staten Island ferry. Even better if you time it to go at dusk.

When you get to Staten Island, don't get right back on the boat! Stop by SI Arts' Culture Lounge - check out their rotating exhibit space and pick up a locally made gift from their artist market.

Must do when in NYC. Ferry is free, mind that only the right side (and not the left one) gives you the view over the Statue of Liberty. Very impressive on sunset!

If you to enjoy a magic movie moment don't ride late night boats. "Noble" & "Austen" are mini ferries with no outdoor viewing decks. You'll just be packed in with tired locals and dirty windows.

Just went on for the first time in 2 years and they have now restricted access to the front of the ferry. Best part was standing out there, great breeze, amazing view. But no more. Very disappointing.
