There's a small stall at the bottom floor that makes Dutch sweets (waffles, pofertjes and etc..) that are the best I had in the Netherlands, follow the sign of the WC or "2theLoo" to get there.

Currently missing some convenience throughout the station. If you arrive on the west side (Jaarbeurszijde) and you want to grab a quick bite at the Ah to go, you have to walk to the east side..

My way of surviving this train station and adjacent mall is to drop in on track 14/15 from AMS and then go straight for the bike rental to get a OV-fiets and by-pass the Hoog Cathereijne clusterfuck.

If you need anything , ask the Information Desk. They were super nice and helped me find my track + multiple Starbucks! Utrecht is a cute town to explore too!

Although being renovated, it's one big maze. I never know how to walk to the right exit or track. The main hall is also too busy.

Honestly the most bureaucratic place in the world. The station is being ripped apart at the moment so good luck finding a place to top up your OV with cash

Huge railway station with tons of shops nearby. Frequent disruptions to train service and the past years reconstruction in the station has been taking place.

Utrecht Centraal is the heart of the Netherlands if you travel by public transport. From here you can get through the whole country within a relatively short time. :)

Walk through the tunnels instead of the main hall, much much less busy. And one was actually a (possible) war shelter during the cold war, giving room to 2000 people for a few days.

The best Hot Chocolate is the "Signature Hot chocolate" at Starbucks. Still want a nice but cheaper one go to the Broodzaak. Worst hot chocolate is at the Kiosk.

Watch out now for the big blue screen... It will be taken down during October 2011, replaced by smaller digital signs. Such a shame, it was the last one in the Netherlands. That's progress I presume.

You can check in at 8:55 AM and still have the 40% discount. Useful, for example, for the 8:58 AM intercity to schiphol airport.

Busiest station in the country! Recent renovations aren't quite as inspiring as those in Rotterdam or Amsterdam, though.
