You can also use the Virgin Rail self service ticket machines to buy tickets to all local stations. Its much simpler and faster to use than the Northern Rail machine.
Best thing about Stockport station is it's an ideal escape route out of this place!

If ya lucky your train will be on time but beware of the 5:32 to Buxton it's always packed and ya tit to toe with everyone

Virgin trains are cheapest, avoid northern rail!

It is a short walk/run from here to Edgeley Park home to Stockport County FC & Sale Sharks rugby.
The national rail ticket people love looking at your sunglasses comparing them to pomegranates - be warned! ;)
Don't park in the £10 a day car park, park at edgeley 2 mins walk from the back of the station £1.50 all day
The ticket inspectors working for Northern Rail are awful. They're rude and argumentative. No customer service skills.
The little gourmet coffee stall by the main entrance is really good.
Don't sit next to slaggy 13 year olds!!!
