The true meaning of this ancient creation has been lost in time. Was it a temple for sun worship, a healing centre, a burial site or perhaps a huge calendar? How did our ancestors carry the mighty stones from so far away and then build this amazing structure? It never fails to impress.
Amazing place. A must visit before you die!
Amazing. You can breathe the atmosphere of 5000 years ago
There is not so much to see
Visit at winter solstice. Best way to see closer in detail.
Visit early to avoid the crowds snd increase your chance of getting a decent photo.
Smaller than I thought.
To see rocks all together I'll rather see pyramids (Mexico, Peru, Egypt) that this overrated pile of stones.
Amazing!!!!!! Absolutely splendid during a sunny day!!!
Nice, but too expensive (around £15)! Go by your own car in the morning, when its not too crowded, and see it for free beyond the fence.
Spectacular. Ten thousand years old and can still accurately calculate the calendar year.
Great place for historic vistas and touch of the past.
Incredible to see in person! It felt like I was living in a dream! We missed out on the tour that lets you stand in the center, but even from this distance, it was phenomenal!
Bring a packed lunch, and enjoy the view from the sheep field next door for free.
Stonehenge is not the only monument at this place. There are at least 5 more monuments a mile from the main attraction. You can find a path to them on the photographs near Stonehenge main stones.
Must see! Amazing!
i can't believe I'm here 💕💕
Perfect farms and good to know about the stone history with fresh air
Best thing is to spend half a day here with a picnic basket
A very nice old monument
Go straight to the stonehenge tour. Check out the visitors centre after
If you going from Reading-Pewsey on train, don't mind the map that refers bus stop B. Plan to walk 5min and get to Bus Stop C by the fire station
I'm not saying it was aliens, but it was aliens ;-)
A rip off in prices ...very crowded...and really it's just stones.
What just rocks!!!! Mmmmm
It's just a bunch of rocks but I'd still recommend everyone to go there at least once. I was really impressed.
It would be a better experience if you didn't have to share it with just so many other people. And yes, I know I was part of the problem.
More interested in how they got there and they built them rather than the actual structure itself, which is frankly a little underwhelming.
Bunch of cool rocks
Plug in your headphones into the audio guide and you'll be hands free to listen and take pictures at the same time.
Take your time to look around
Visit exhibition first and take shuttle bus to go to see the stones. Then you will more enjoy the site. Very interesting.
Great place, the exhibition is great. Be mindful about weather is usually very windy at the stones..
Go. Just go. This is amazing.
Only a few scattered rocks , nothing fancy 😜
Each one has different history like the Horseshow od Sarsen Trilothons
More interesting than I expected it to be. Worthwhile considering annual membership of English Heritage to give free access to EH sites for a year.
I loved it here. Being able to see the remnants of history is better than just reading about it
The Russian website shows pictures 'Stonehenge' has been built in 1954. Let's see this site
Definetly You should visit!! Stonehenge is legendary!
Good day trip, a but pricey but hey it's only once. Bring a sweater gets chilly with the wind blowing.
You can walk to the henge for free. If the entrance fee prevents you from visiting, the henge is 1.4 miles from the visitor centre. The view is more restricted then paying visitors but still worth it.
Look for special occasions when you can walk amongst the stones! The place is spectacular anyway though.
The most important thing to do here is feel.
Love the new layout. You get to see the stones so much closer now. Well worth seeing it for the fourth time:)
amazing place!! really makes you think about your reasons for existing and the meaning of life.....
A truly magical place. The scenery is beyond belief and an absolute must see.
Free wifi at the visitor center. Download the app or pick up an audio guide :)
Bit pricy, but worth a visit! Take the bus next to the visitors center. Much quicker!
