If there's anything keeping IFC staffers Always On, it's the Stumptown coffee at the Ace Hotel coffee bar. So thick, it'll stick to your teeth! See you in outer space! - IFC Staff
They travel worldwide because they are committed to sourcing and roasting the best coffees available anywhere.
A 2,50 dólares el expresso y a 3,30 el capuccino. ¡Taste it the Colombian Coffee!
Get a cup of the best coffee in the city and enjoy it in Ace Hotel's super fantastic lobby.
Good luck getting in here at 9:30 am! This place is like a nightclub, but in the morning, and with seriously great coffee instead of booze.
Ask for your drink in a white ceramic mug if you want to kick it in the hotel lobby. Wifi passwords to be found on the tables!
My god it's the perfect latte.
The attractive baristas and baristos (?) here keep the line moving & put a pep in your step with the super charged coffee. The latte designs = bonus.
Try the Cortado
No credit cards accepted, so make sure you have cash!
"too pretty to think"
Duane Sorenson became a hero in Portland, Oregon, after he opened Stumptown in 1999, thanks to his meticulously sourced coffee and expert roasting skills.
Probably the best coffee in New York - keep on going back there. The hipster outfits are a bit of a turnoff tho - Portland one takes itself a little less seriously.
take your coffee into the lounge! it's amazing.
Dare you stray from Starbucks? If you're in the area, you must! Never thought I'd say that as I drink espresso only, Stumptown barista convinced me to enjoy a latte & enjoy I did!

Hipster coffee so good
Originally from Portland, this NYC transplant has friendly baristas and great cofee. Ask for your drink in a mug and relax in the nearby lounge.
Their hipster-barista uniforms are as embarrassing as the coffee is delicious!
Srsly some of the best coffee in the city. I always get a cappuccino and I am always surprised wig how delicious it is.
Winner of Best New Coffeehouse in the Village Voice 2011 Best Of issue! Grab yourself one of their bottled iced coffees and plant yourself in the hotel lobby.
Best coffee in town
If your wanting an espresso drink with the most impact to volume ratio, try a cortado. To stay, of course!
Pretty good coffee...which you can enjoy in the very smoothed ace hotel lobby. Good luck finding somewhere to sit though.
sip it from the big white mug not the to-go paper cup
Buy a pound and take it home -make it in a French press. You'll thank me in the morning.
I remember the first time I had a cup of Stumptown coffee. It was made with a french press, I thought I had died and gone to coffee heaven. Damn fine coffee! They will keep you coming back for more.
Just one of many good reasons to head to The Ace. I know it's a Portland import, but we can't accuse NYC of NOT having a coffee culture now that Stumptown are here, can we?!
The coffee is worth the wait. The mocha kicks ass.
The place is very inviting, elegant and simple. The Almond Milk Mochas and Lattes are strong yet perfectly balanced. Their roasts are amazing and they had some delicious breakfast options as well.
Great coffee here!
EVERYONE HERE IS COOLER THAN ME
Ok. Any place that pardons the fact I didn't bring cash to pay for coffee. And says, just pay us back next time, officially gets an amazing review. I will be back and pay you back! Oh, amazing coffee!
Get a coffee here and imagine that you are in Portland, OR.
The best coffee in the neighborhood (one of the best in the city) and a great opportunity to get a taste of the uber-hip Ace Hotel.
Best coffee in NYC
To work here, you must apparently be willing to wear a Hipster hat all day long.
Order an iced Panamanian. Bang!
Every time I come to this place I like it more. Great staff. Strong coffee. Always leave with that, "today's going to be an awesome day" feeling.
Check out their rotating collection of weird plants
Feels strangely like the methadone line.
Ask for the "Flyover State" from the secret menu. It's amphetamines ground up and sprinkled on the surface of an Americano with extra hot water.
NYC [Drink] Whether you're there to oogle at cool-to-the-bone hipster baristas or to get a killer latte -- the line is always worth the wait! Grab a bar of Mast Brothers chocolate while you're there.
This place always has a line for a reason: the people of Portland know what they're doing with their beans. Come at a slower time and enjoy your java in the Ace Hotel lobby with a good book.
Hipsters are slow. Hair Bender is my favorite roast for French press or Chemex at home.
The lines out the door and snaking down the street for this coffee speak for themselves.
