Also known as (New) Bangkok International Airport. The name Suvarnabhumi was chosen by The King, and refers to the golden kingdom.
Taxi is a good option for two (400TBH including toll&airport fee) to take you to downtown. On gate no.7 you can buy a super useful prepaid sim for your trip. Good luck and fall in love with Bangkok!
When you are heading to the east zone, concourse A B C, just pass the "Churning of the Ocean of Milk" about 50 meters. You will see a house-like decorated toilet. It is recommended to drop in and see.
Beautiful designed interior of the airport with real orchids all over walls, perfectly nice staff and smoking zones available at each step.Use public taxi to get to the hotel for a fix prize.Recomended
I personally prefer True, which has great coverage. Exit the arrival hall, just tell the friendly counter staff what you require. Hand them your phone and they will help you to activate the service.
Yes, customs take long. Many international luxury brands for shopping, some Thai goods available after customs, but I'd buy the pure coconut oil & elephant soaps in Family Mart near check in counter U!
Low-cost, fixed cost data plans. After exiting Arrival hall, go to exit gate 7. There are a few telcos selling THB 299 (USD 8-9) for 7 days unlimited data! Great for 4SQ use! Picked AIS for coverage
wear comfy shoes - one of the biggest airports in Asia and it is always busy. immigration line is like the US x2 and after a 14-hours flight utilize the VIP lounges and rest areas for ice coffee!
If you're hungry and don't have too much time and enough money for restaruants, you can buy really good hot sandwich with ham and cheese for only 35 baht - 3rd floor - Family mart market
For the many times that I've been thru Suvarnabhumi, the immigration employees have been fast and courteous. Very easy to get around, fast taxi service outside, very pleasant staff everywhere.
My most visited airport. Check ur vat amount properly. Only 55 inches TV is allowed out of this airport that's coz they oversized machine is dat big.The alcohol rates r high compared to other airports
Taxi service's..Available 24 hours Hot & Best Promotions..( Drop or pick-up ) from Bangkok Airport Special on offers..Including Motorway..! Booking A range of coastline..Call-0817673641/0861570321..!
To get the VAT refund, make sure that you have the customs inspection done before checking in. The best currency exchange rate is located near the Airport express entrance, and opens 6am to midnight.
Among the largest markets in the world, Chatuchak seems to unite everything buy able, from used vintage sneakers to baby squirrels. Plan to spend a full day, as there’s plenty to see, do and buy.
One of the greatest symbols of this excess and power of the Kingdom of Siam is The Grand Palace. Its beautiful gilded architecture, intricate carved decorations, and fantastic statues are a huge draw.
Get an AIS mobile data SIM with 1GB or 2GB loaded for you at AIS stand on 1st floor. Lady was very friendly and did the setup and checked my phone worked. AIS reception worked across most of Bangkok.
Try the food court (magic food point) at the 1st floor close to the public transport. Kinda hidden away (no direction signs) this is where many locals eat (local prices). Nice variety of asian dishes
Welcome to Thailand. Get to the city by going to the first floor and taking the $1.50 (45B) train. 40 min, connects to the Bangkok Skytrain. Perhaps the best and cheapest connection of any airport.
Although free 1hr Wi-Fi is promoted everywhere, the signal is horrible. Try to find an SSID called Airport Free Wi-Fi 5G(must have the 5G), which is relatively stable.
Easy way to go in the city, is downstairs B1 floor. There is 2 trains to the city. One is express train and the another one is normal train. All cost is cheaper than taxi on both 1st and 2nd floors.
Get the free wifi after passport control, the counter is on your right hand side. Give the passport Nd get one hour free wifi! However it's kind of slow, took me long time to get my iPhone 5 connected!
Very large airport, with an amazing range of shops and restaurants in the duty free area. Very well organised but plan your time to orientate especially if you are there for the first time.
Staying in BKK or Thailand. Get a SIM card before you leave the airport. After you exit immigration turn left and go straight. They have a 7 day unlimited data SIM card. Only 200baht! Worth it!
Buy a SIM card from one of the outlets land-side before you leave the terminal. From dtac we paid 549 baht for a months data, wifi and 100 baht worth of calls and the coverage has been excellent
@ black canyon coffee. If you are AIS serenade member. You can get 1 free coffee, chocolate or capu. U need to type some code on the cell phone at the counter to show them na ja . Can get once a wk
There is a FREE airport wifi, claim username and password at tourist information area (normally near duty free shop, there is one just pass passport control/immigration.)
Free WiFi. This airport vis huge, prepare for long walks. Efficient immigration staff. Fast baggage delivery. Lots of atm and currency exchange on arrival level. Use "AirportLink" train to go to city.
VISA on site need cash and there is no cash machine, so you must exchange with higher cost from the exchange shop. Also sometimes with long queue for waiting. Better to have VISA ready before arrival.
It's a bit complicated to get around when you are running between flights, you have varied options for restaurants on lever three, but in the dutyfree it's expensive and far from the gates.
If u leave nearby the airport and u need to get a cab home, it's recommended to go up Departure floor to get the cab there or u may go Public Taxi downstairs yet tell the officer u go Ging Kaew
Go to the 3rd floor and find Miracle Lounge for a place with AC, free wifi, water, soda, sandwich, butter cake to comfortably wait for your next flight. They charge for every 2 hours you stay.
Go to bangkok city is very easy to reach. take airport link, choose express train to Praya thai and than connect everywhereyou need by BTS. i always goto city by this way shopping at siam paragon.
Big and hard to navigate, this airport makes it hard to arrive in a good mood. Get ready for long customs lines while you watch your bag on the claim carousel!
If you don't have a need to spend some time looking at overpriced shops, after the passport control and behind the ugly statue you can find hidden elevator stairs directly to gates.
Visa on arrival & Immigration check take a long time esp. @ late nights. 1/2 of the counters close. The board says 1 min/person but it takes 5-10 times more. Fastrack process charges 200Bhats more.
If you feel hungry, 3 recommended restaurants that quite good Thai taste 1.S&P Restaurant (3rd flr.) 2.Canteen on roll W side (Ground flr.) 3.Canteen on roll A side (G flr. but only at noon)
ANUCHIT RAKCHART ("arm" western name) is the most helpful kind person in the airport. He help me find my passport, never lost his smile and his English is perfect. He is in concourse G
Must see: The statue of Emerald Buddha made from a fine piece of green jade at Wat Phra Kaew temple. Also, experience some of the finest examples of Buddhist scripts, architecture & paintings.
Travelling to Aust from BKK? Duty free MUCH cheaper here than in Singapore. Better range too. But sadly, 100 ml limit means you have to patronise the DFC monopoly in Singapore for grog and perfume.
Very quick in immigration!! Staff is cooperative!! Don't forget to buy simcards from Airport itself. For Visa On Arrival take normal line instead of special line as it not going to take much time!!
Beautiful airport but always busy. Even when you land at 2am, expect to wait for immigration for at least 1.5 hrs. Go to level 6 to find a quiet place to sleep if you have a long overnight layover
Louis Tavern isn't a bad lounge if you are a Priority Pass holder. Concourse A is the quietest but takes a few minutes to walk to. Hot food isn't great but they have a reasonable selection of alcohol.
It is great that there is free wifi here but the registration process, and the fact that your accounts by times out, makes it really inconvenient for quick smartphone usage when standing in line
Take highway with tolls from town to airport to avoid traffic.Custom stamp for dutyfree goods is on the extreme right when u enter the departure hall. Most lounges r far from gates,be prepared to walk.
You can get the arrival card at the info desk in front of passport control if you lost it or didn't get it on the plane, the departure card will be tacked on the stamped page, keep it until left.
Amatuar or pro photographer, u can enjoy the night scene here as well ^_^ One spot I like is upstair at the Observation Deck Look around the blue light, people, metal structure, etc. do look great!
There are more than 120 free Internet service kiosks here. Usage is limited, though. You can also ask for free wifi. Good for 1 hour. Passwords can be retrieved from info kiosk after immigration
If you need a box for items, the wrapping spot will box your stuff go 160 baht, also 10baht to weigh items. That last part I think is a rip off as most airlines will weigh your stuff for free.
The immigration, the passport control & checking-in point are always crowded, so prepare yourself for staying in queues! It would be better to arrive to the airport early (~2,5 hrs before boarding).
Getting a public taxi is convenient. You need to follow the signs after exiting customs. There's a designated area for public taxis. The rates are fixed, and you'll be given a receipt before leaving.
