Compared to larger airports you don't have to give yourself much time to check-in. If you are not checking bags you should only need to arrive 30-45 mins. before your flight

Now that you've arrived in Syracuse - head straight to Dinosaur BBQ to treat yourself to the best BBQ in the US. If you're leaving, don't come back until the summer, unless you're an eskimo

SYR has the world's largest single blade snowplow. When a flight is delayed, it is *rarely* because of issues on our end. It's usually those amateurs down at EWR or PHL that can't handle a little snow

Great place to go to randomly greet people when they arrive home from their trip. Best if you come offering a hug with tears in your eyes.

If you're an idiot who can't figure out how to remove a cellphone from your pocket at the security check, please stay home. I hate you.

    Sean · August 21, 2011

Early morning security lines are the worst. Don't think that you don't have to get here at the normal time interval just because it's a small airport.

    Ariel Norling · September 16, 2011
  • Eric H.

You can fly to NYC for a little more than it costs to take a taxi from the airport to downtown Syracuse #makescompletesense #highprofitmargin

This is by far the easiest airport to get through security! You don't need much time to check in and get through security. And the TSA people here are really nice! Welcome to Syracuse :)

Well, it's no Centro Transit Hub, but this airport gets you where you're going. Or rather, it gets you to the airport that will get you to where you are going.

Make sure and stop by Cafe Kubal and get a delicious locally roasted cup of coffee. It's a Great locally owned business. It's directly across from security. Cheers!

I am proud of living in Syracuse but our airport is sooooo lacking! There's a game room with arcade games and literally 2 restaurants!

Eat before you get here. Not a lot of food choices and everythig closes early. However, they do have vending machines and plenty of free outlets to charge your phone.

Make sure you take your belt off and if you have a Nike running disc in your shoe take it out...the TSA here is perplexed by them...guess they don't exercise here.

Hint... It snows in Syracuse. Park in the INDOOR parking. Its only $2 more per day. WELL worth it.

The new central security checkpoint is pretty slow compared to the two separate security checkpoints. Leave yourself a little bit of extra time.

Security takes their job VERY seriously here. Apparently bored and ready for a terrorist throw down

Great improvements! Now only one tsa line and it is 4x as long as what it used to be. If you're not priority, be prepared to wait... And wait... And wait.

Eat first unless you like chicken fingers. Drink as you await the rapture.

Free wifi small airport easy to navigate but not the most reliable... If ur flight isn't canceled or delayed pretty good airport

    Danny Silberstein · February 18, 2011

Be sure to get something to eat before your evening flight. Restaurants close around 7pm. Any delay and you're out of luck!

This airport now sucks. The security wait has gone from less than 15 min to 1 hour or more now. I guess someone should get a promotion.

New security check-in is in the center of the airport, not at each terminal anymore. Allow the standard 1 hour before departure or you'll be running to catch your flight.

    Anita Prather Harvell · May 29, 2013
  • Russ R.

Don't eat at this airport. You're better off eating a pair of Crocs, and--let's be honest--that would make this world a better place.

the fact that there is free wifi here is awesome bit the lack of food options makes waiting and delayed flights pretty miserable.

    Anastasia K · November 1, 2010

Security is horrible. They make a big deal about little shit. Should probably invest in better technology so they don't have to unorganize a suitcase that took hours to accommodate.

    Gracie Castañeda · August 28, 2010

Plenty of parking, great Cafe Kubal coffee, and free wifi. Oh yeah, they have airplanes, too.

The new doors as you exit the A or B concourses. The ones that slow you down, trapping you in a tiny space while they decontaminate you (LOL) are *STUPID*!! >:^\

Six people fit in the futuristic exit capsules. Don't hold everyone by waiting to go solo!

Look for Cafe Kubal here, just inside central security screening. It's guaranteed to be the airport's best coffee and food.
