Easy to move through although a paucity of food choices in the delta/United terminal - stop at the Dunkin Donuts first - maybe your best option for breakfast - Beer Garden makes a good egg scramble !!

Skycaps at US Airways are friendly, super helpful plus easy cut with line at ticket counter, have your boarding pass/ itinerary and license for quick and easy check in. Tip was well deserved

There is a military courtesy room by the baggage claim on the first floor for any active or reserve military they have free waters and snacks a tv too so if your waiting a while stop in.

It doesn't have a lot to offer, but it's simplicity is appreciated. Fast lines, free wifi, outlets everywhere. I'll take that over 50 different overpriced retail options. I love you NNY!

The new security gates have been moved to a central location. All of the passengers go through and the lines are now longer and it takes much longer to get through (40 min).

Check-in and security doesn't take too long . TSA and gate agents all very nice. Grounds crews do a great job with winter weather! Not many food options in the terminal but it does have free wifi!

This is by far the easiest airport to get through security! You don't need much time to check in and get through security. And the TSA people here are really nice! Welcome to Syracuse :)

Compared to the old security checkpoints, the new central security is much more organized. There are actually more than 2 TSA now & they open before 5am finally! No more missing your early am flight!

Now that you've arrived in Syracuse - head straight to Dinosaur BBQ to treat yourself to the best BBQ in the US. If you're leaving, don't come back until the summer, unless you're an eskimo

Compared to larger airports you don't have to give yourself much time to check-in. If you are not checking bags you should only need to arrive 30-45 mins. before your flight

Construction inside the terminal is completed (still going on for outside construction), but spare extra time (2 hours) for long lines. Used to be 1 hour and easy.

Security is a breeze here compared to the cattle call I have to endure at IAD. Might have had to wait five minutes once. Need more choice from Dulles. United fares too high!

Eat before you get here. Not a lot of food choices and everythig closes early. However, they do have vending machines and plenty of free outlets to charge your phone.

Middle Ages Brewing Co. has a restaurant in the AA gate wing. Serves eggs, omelettes, etc. in am, brews and paninis, salads for lunch and dinner.

No good food choices. If you want a decent meal, eat before you come. Forget it if you're delayed. They renovated security, but only one person working during rush hour.
  • Anita P.
New security check-in is in the center of the airport, not at each terminal anymore. Allow the standard 1 hour before departure or you'll be running to catch your flight.

SYR has the world's largest single blade snowplow. When a flight is delayed, it is *rarely* because of issues on our end. It's usually those amateurs down at EWR or PHL that can't handle a little snow

When my hotel shuttle never came and the hotel wouldn't answer phones, the airport staff comped a taxi so I wasn't stranded with 3 kids at 10:30 pm. Wonderful people!

Cafe Kubal is some of the best coffee in town. I am so glad they have a kiosk here now! Located directly across from security.

The airport just went through a new white & sterile-like renovation. Security is in a new spot. Some of us SYR veterans had a panic attack that we landed at the wrong airport... It looks so different!

Great improvements! Now only one tsa line and it is 4x as long as what it used to be. If you're not priority, be prepared to wait... And wait... And wait.

Whoa! Major renovation. All security is in middle of airport now (as of mid May, 2013). Seems to be running relatively smoothly on a Saturday morning.

Free Wi-Fi! If you're really early for a flight, don't go through security, as there are couches outside of security where you can sleep.

Worst. Airport. Ever. Security was ridiculous- prepare to wait forever as TSA inspects each bag thoroughly. Paper boarding passes? I feel like I've traveled back in time.

The new central security checkpoint is pretty slow compared to the two separate security checkpoints. Leave yourself a little bit of extra time.

If you have anything remotely resembling ANYTHING that could be misconstrued as liquid or aerosol in your carry-on, put it in a Ziploc. They pilfered through my stuff for a bottle of Maalox TABLETS.

TSA people are insanely strict. Probably out of boredom and the want to feel important and effective at something. Pretty humorous and annoying.

There are more TSA employees at this airport than people flying in and out. Get a frisk while your there and have some fun with it.

Make sure and stop by Cafe Kubal and get a delicious locally roasted cup of coffee. It's a Great locally owned business. It's directly across from security. Cheers!

July 2011: pizza place at the Delta boarding gates is closed for redecoration so no more food inside security area. The hot dog place is horrible so don't bother.

Got stuck here once and was at the mercy of a paltry snack machine. Pack emergency snack just in case! Also, security had me take out my Nook from bag. JFK never saw this as an issue. Oh well...

Be sure to get something to eat before your evening flight. Restaurants close around 7pm. Any delay and you're out of luck!

Make sure you take your belt off and if you have a Nike running disc in your shoe take it out...the TSA here is perplexed by them...guess they don't exercise here.

SYR = nicest airport in the USA. They once called asking me to come immediately to catch the earlier flight because mine would be delayed...not the airline, the airport! Today - free twizzlers.

Try to arrange transportation before you arrive. Taxis are outrageously expensive and one company has a monopoly at the airport!

The gateway cafe isn't bad food or price. The people could be more friendly though. I got a muffin and coffee for $5.

The new doors as you exit the A or B concourses. The ones that slow you down, trapping you in a tiny space while they decontaminate you (LOL) are *STUPID*!! >:^\

Security is horrible. They make a big deal about little shit. Should probably invest in better technology so they don't have to unorganize a suitcase that took hours to accommodate.

Don't fly US Airways. They only have two hubs and both are normally effected by bad weather at the same time. Poor customer service to boot.

Great place to go to randomly greet people when they arrive home from their trip. Best if you come offering a hug with tears in your eyes.

today's invented security issue: two granola bars in my bag "looked like a large bottle of liquid" and warranted a manual check.

Very easy to access. Small enough not to have to arrive too early. But always ensure you have enough time anyway for delays on the way.

Well, it's no Centro Transit Hub, but this airport gets you where you're going. Or rather, it gets you to the airport that will get you to where you are going.

Look for Cafe Kubal here, just inside central security screening. It's guaranteed to be the airport's best coffee and food.

the fact that there is free wifi here is awesome bit the lack of food options makes waiting and delayed flights pretty miserable.
